This cpu made my tiny dorm gaming setup feel real
This semester i wanted my dorm pc to handle classes and games, so I grabbed this i9. Setup was easy with my Z690 board. I hit the power button and it went straight into BIOS, no drama. I play Valorant and Apex between lectures and the frame rate stays super smooth, even while Discord and Spotify are open. The best part is rendering Premiere projects for my media class. I export a 10 minute 4K clip while checking notes in OneNote and the system stays fast. kind of wild seeing homework and gaming work on the same machine ๐ Fans do spin up when I stress test, but temps stay under control with my 240mm AIO, so Iโm pretty happy with it.

Good stuff
I used a twin air cooler on it and it runs about 39c with just normal work to 48c underload (gaming) I do have a full tower with a 5070 Ti , 2 M2 ssd's and 2 ssd 2.5's , 2 16g DDR5 ram , CD reading and wrighting Optical Drive all making heat but the CPU stays will below the 99.22c fale point.. I did have to add 1 fan to bring in more cool air from the outside so I have 3 coming in and 2 going out so there is more cool air going in making a high pressure of cool air this is crucial to make the thermal temperature stay down in the rig.. Inssallation is very easy and quick.. The power is 125W.. Mine is cloked at 3.2 GHz, boost to 6.0 GHz (overclocked) and stays cool.. The 16 cores will handle anything I throw at it quickly and smooth with no effort.. I can't beleave how mush faster it is compaired it my old i7 8 core this is a great upgrade..

A fast chip for family gaming
Yeah, I picked the i9-12900KF for a living-room gaming PC so my kids and I could use one machine. We played a few rounds after dinner, and the game stayed smooth while I had a browser and chat open too. Glad I went with it; nobody had to wait for the PC to catch up.

A strong upgrade for my desktop
I bought this processor for my apartment desktop after saving up, mostly for gaming and keeping a few apps open. During a long gaming session, it stayed responsive while I had a browser and voice chat running too. It costs more than a basic chip, so I had to budget for it, but Iโm glad it handles my setup well.

A strong start for my dorm PC
This was the CPU I picked for the gaming PC I put together in my dorm. I started a game right after I finished the setup, and it felt great to finally use the computer Iโd been planning. Iโm glad I chose it because I can game and keep my school tabs open on the same PC.

You want power? Well... Here you go!!
First Intel Setup for me. I have been building with AMD since 2006 and my last build was with Ryzen 7 3700x. I have been happy with AMD, but, I have seen a lot of instability in reviews and comments compared to Intel. I took the leap and I am happy. 360mm Radiator is a must. Its a beast. A beast that needs to be tamed, but with a good MOBO and cooler you will be fine. I game and Record with no problem and keep the temp around 75C and below while having a lot of apps open. I thought about going DDR5 route but I feel that there is more stability in DDR4 and I had an extra 32GB of Corsair memory sitting around anyway. Things worked out well for me. At this point I am an Intel guy. An easy to control CPU with Power and Efficiency I need.

still fast, reliable, and competitive
After 2.5 years, this processor is still amazing and seems like a great deal now. With memory becoming impossible to procure at any reasonable price, savings anywhere in PC building seems worth it. The entire line of 12th gen intel CPU's were one of their last extremely stable and reliable series, with the 13th and 14th gens having various post-production issues. This i9-12900KF chip in particular runs a bit hot (at least mine does ~45-50C idle on stock), but I've been able to easily undervolt it to more reasonable temperatures (~35-40C idle) while on both stock and overclocked settings (air cooled w/ thermalright peerless assassin 120 SE). For the last year, I've only been undervolting though as I've been more than satisfied with its capability in both multi-tasking scenarios and gaming. From video recording and editing; virtualized programming environments; to playing modern games on both windows and linux - this chip is more than capable and I do not feel close to needing an upgrade yet.

A capable studio and gaming processor
On my home-studio PC, I picked this processor because I wanted one machine for design work and evening gaming. A large project export ran while I kept a few apps open, and the system stayed responsive. I was glad I chose it when I could finish the export and get into a game without closing everything first.

Killer CPU!
Killer CPU!! Perfect for my OEM 600 Intel chipset. Ran into compatibility problems with newer generations 13900KF and 14900K despite motherboard bios updates... so third time's the charm apparently. My research suggests that the 12th gen was Intel's last line of processors without major production issues. Benchmark cpu score clocked in at over 20% higher with the i9 12900KF (16 cores) vs the i7 12700KF (12 cores).
