In the 'On" position, the lights operate in a constant mode, while the "Timer" mode keeps it on for 6 hours and then turns it off for the next 18 hours e) Select "Steady" or 'Twinkle" by sliding the button. Only two of the six strings of lights work.  Three strings will not light and the timer on the fourth string does not work.  Very dissatisfied!
