I have a cat. I thought (hoped) they would become friends. I was very, very wrong. For the last 6 months I've lived here, there have been daily catfights, yowling, hissing, and chasing. I decided 15 bucks was worth taking a chance on, so I got this starter kit and plugged it into the outlet in the space where they tend to interact the most (the upstairs landing which is a large open area that looks down on the stairs and hallway below. I figured the pheromones would more easily emanate down to the bottom floor from there and cover more ground). So far I've had it plugged in for about 2 weeks and there hadn't been a single brawl in all that time (at least none that I or my housemate have witnessed). Additionally, my housemate has noticed that her kitty has become especially affectionate, even more than she already was. All in all, this has been a really great purchase and it's made all of our lives that much less stressful! Plus our kitties are no longer scratched up from their animosity. The Feliway MultiCat is a copy of the pheromone produced by the mother cat during lactation. This phenomenon reassures kittens and helps them bond with the mother. The regular or original Feliway diffuser is a synthetic copy of the facial pheromone that cats use for marking their territory and comforting themselves. **Q: Does it help with indoor spraying and out of box peeing?** A: I really don’t know, my cats never had that problem. I bought it because the vet suggested it. I used it for a month before traveling with my cats in the car for 31 hours. I’m not really sure what the result of it was because I also had a sedative for them during travel time. **Q: So the diffuser needs to be replaced after 6 months?** A: The diffuser head supposedly lasts 6 months. The vial with the liquid lasts about a month. **Q: How many square feet does this product cover?** A: Each time I have plugged it in, regardless of the room size, my cats are much calmer.
