There weren't any instructions initially on what kind of paper to use, so I spent quite a few of the first presses using cardstock and being confused as to why it wouldn't press. I finally figured out that using regular printer papers the only way that it will actually press into the shape I want, and even then it's very hit or miss as to if it'll press the whole way. I think that in my first batch of button parts that they included, I had about 20 of them that didn't press properly. The written instructions are incredibly confusing, and I had to look up videos on how to get it to work. I thought that I finally got the hang of it, so I went and purchased more metal base refills from this company and they've been working fairly well with few issues. Up until today.I added a picture, but the top press part just snapped in the middle of me making buttons. I'm not sure if it's even still usable but I've only made around 120 buttons with this machine, so the fact that it's already broken in half is not a good sign.Before this point, I would say that this would be a good button machine if you're just starting out, but after this I would not recommend it at all. I paid around $80 for the machine, but if I had known that that were the case I would just have gone to a manufacturer instead and not had as many errors.
