## Overview

The Graco Freestanding Brass Case Catcher features a large 18x18 inch brass trap with a rigid steel frame and deep black mesh bag designed to maintain shape without clamps. Compatible with standard photo tripods (not included), it holds over 200 45 auto cases and adjusts for shooting bench or offhand use. Engineered for durability and ease, it streamlines brass collection to keep your shooting sessions efficient and mess-free.

## Description

This is a large (18x18) brass trap catcher with a rigid metal, not plastic, frame that is designed to attach to the top of any standard photo tripod. The mesh bag holds its shape due to a support sewn into the bag and doesn't act like a wind sock. There are no friction clamps to constantly tighten. Gravity holds the catcher's shape. There is no setup except to stand the catcher upright. The bag easily holds 200 45 auto cases. With the tripod's legs retracted, the catcher is at the proper height for use from a shooting bench, and with the legs extended and the center rod fully upright, it's at a convenient height for offhand. The catchers CAN be laid on its side without a tripod. The tripod is NOT included. The appropriate tripod is available most anywhere. The one we use for testing was 18.00 at WalMart. At the suggestion of customers, some changes have been made. The bag is now deeper for better control, and the support is now much more robust, steel, not plastic. There is a large catch area at the bottom of the bag below the opening to minimize cases bouncing back out of the bag. The color of the mesh is now black. Due to past problems, we will only ship within the United States. Thanks for looking.

Review: Works great for me so far. - Arrived quickly from Graco. Well packaged and undamaged. Seems very well built with no loose seams. Set up easily on a tripod I had laying around, and once I had it positioned correctly and easily, it caught the brass consistently. I have only tried it with a couple .22's, a Remington 552 and a Remington 572 so far, and other than needing to adjust for each guns ejection pattern, it worked beautifully. I expect it will work well for all my other guns. Very satisfied so far, and happy I purchased this Graco rather than the other prominent freestanding brass catcher made by Caldwell. I recommend this unit.
Review: I hope that it is made in China - I expect that this will work very well at catching my brass. I really hope that no one here in the USA is turning out products with such ugly welds and questionable stitching. The seam that holds the net to the frame was already separating when I took it out of the (pizza) box. I think that the couple of safety pins I added will hold it OK until I have a chance to do a better job stitching it. Can't say that I look forward to that job as it will not be easy to stitch inside the steel frame, that makes it easier to see why the stitching wasn't done better originally. The foot of my machine should (just barely) lift high enough to get over the frame. My old back, hips and knees don't picking up brass anymore, I think that this will let me shoot something besides the revolvers again.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Do outdoor range safety people have any objection to using it. I want to purchase but am concerned it may obscure a clear view of shooters .**
A: We are RSO's at a large outdoor range is Salt Lake City. The unit was designed with this in mind, being made of mesh. This allows visibility as well as doesn't pick up the wind as much. On the big bore rifle range, portable dividers made of the same mesh are used by shooters using semi-auto's to contain the spent brass and prevent the adjacent shooter being hit by hot brass.

**Q: Ours came today and the packaging was torn open. Were there any screws or anything else in the box?**
A: Got mine couple of weeks ago. Worst packaging I've ever seen, inverted pizza box, hot glued shut, and some to the netting. I had no screws included but if putting on a camera tripod it should have a shoe w 1 screw that should match up to threaded hole on catcher, otherwise you'll have to improvise a base an attach or clamp to your stand.

**Q: Does this fold up flat? It looks like it might. How much does it weigh?**
A: Yes it does. The rear support fold against the main opening resulting in 18 x 18 x 1 1/2. Shipping weight is 2 lb 15 oz.

**Q: Where is it made?**
A: This is made by a small company located in Kearns, Utah. They don't appear to be connected to the company of the same name that makes baby furniture. I think it is safe to assume it is American Made.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great brass catcher
*by S***S on May 25, 2019*

Built a wooden platform to hold it. Wind kept blowing it off the bench when using a small tripod. Large tripod works well when shooting from a standing position. With my homemade stand, I can catch brass as it ejects in pretty much any direction. They may not all stay in the basket but they will all be within arms reach... no more lost brass...
