They love the wool material, very warm and cozy inside and worth every penny. I have two, one in the basement where it is cool and he is snuggled in, warm. You can wash, but I give it a good vacuum now and then and it does not retain any smells. My cat is a large Norwegian Forrest with very long fur and over 20lb and he fits perfectly in this large size. Happy cat, I have had many cheaper material ones in the past but don’t hold up to the quality and longevity of this one. Holds its shape.
