Great product, great quality, great price, and great shipping time.

I grew up in my grandfather's auto repair shop that my brother runs today. I own MAC, Matco, Snap-On, SK, New Britain and Craftsman sockets and ratchets. This Olsa SAE deep socket set is industrial art. The workmanship is flawless. They are built a bit like impact sockets which is great and not great at the same time. Deep impact sockets are made to beat on and they are built differently than regular deep sockets because there is a lot of metal on the bottom of impact sockets to take the torque of a commercial air gun without breaking. The Olsa deep sockets have a lot of metal as well, more than my old Craftsman sockets but less than my Snap-On deep impact sockets which I have beat to death for decades. The point is that the extra metal in the bottom of the Olsa deep sockets reduces the sockets depth reach versus the full depth Craftsman socket. See the photo of my 50-year-old chrome Craftsman socket and the same size Olsa socket with the depth gauges. The old Craftsman has an extra 3/4 inch of reach, and which can be really important on some jobs like a recent floor jack rebuild. The Olsa deep sockets are not deep enough to reach the hex at the bottom of the hydraulic pump plunger to replace the seals. I had to pick up a fully deep Craftsmen 1 1/16 deep socket to finish the job. See the attached video to see what I mean. The photo of the 3 sockets shows my 50-year-old chrome Craftsman on the left, the Olsa chrome socket in the center and my black Snap-On deep impact on the right. As mentioned, the Olsa sockets have a depth reach in between the Craftsman and Snap-on that is hard to see in the photos. This data is an “FYI”. The quality of the Olsa sockets is remarkable. So much so that I ordered the Olsa 18-piece metric deep set for my lake cottage for my machines. But I will still keep my 50-year-old Craftsman deep sockets because of their better reach. I have not found another "low end" socket/ratchet maker that can match the “big 3” (Snap-On, MAC, Matco) for fit and finish. But the lack of full depth on the Olsa deep sockets can present issues as I demonstrated in the video. Hope this helps!

This socket set is well made and has the same quality as Snap-on Brand. I own both, and the quality is exceptional.

These get 4 stars. They are nicely made and stamped and finished, the packaging is great as well. The only negative is that the steel hardness does not compare to American made or other higher end lines. It's just a fact. Don't run these in an impact.
