The Otter Box was fine, but added a ton of bulk and was made out of a two piece design that was frustrating to adjust properly. The Magpul case on the other hand is one piece, slimmer, significantly cheaper, and just as durable (if not more so). My dad, a tech savvy guy, was so impressed with the design that he went and bought one for his iPhone 5. Shortly afterwards I got two more for my mom and grandpa (they both have the 4S). Everyone has loved their cases.I minor downside was that after a few months the corners on my case loosened up, and now the phone doesn't fit quite as well as it used to. My parents, however, have not had this issue with theirs. All in all, I still think this a great buy. My family and I have dropped our phones many times, often on asphalt or concrete, and these cases don't even get a scratch. Even if for whatever reason yours ends up stretching out like mine at least it's cheap to replace and get a new one (I just ordered a new OD green case today for $6.38 to replace my black one). This is highly recommended ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ What you'd expect from MagPul *by E***E on Reviewed in the United States on January 10, 2014* This case shows that a lot of thought went into it. It strikes a great balance between protection and sleekness. It's not big and bulky, and the polymer is a good balance of flexibility (impact protection) and rigidity (holds its shape). I was concerned that the ridges on the case might make getting the phone in/out of a pocket difficult, but the texture is great; it's non-slip but still goes in & out of your pocket easily (unlike sticky silicone "gel"-type covers). The front edge is higher than the face of the phone (unlike their "Exec" case) to protect the screen somewhat. All the buttons and cut-outs are in exactly the right spot for my Verizon iPhone4. The openings for the earphone and sync/charging jacks are sized for the original Apple plugs. My Panasonic earbuds with 90-degree bent jack fit fine, but the plug on a 3rd-party charger was too bulky to fit.As others suggested, I colored the camera-lens cutout with a black marker to eliminate flash glare--no problem. Time will tell if the yellow shows a lot of dirt. Unlike some cases, this case does not come with a screen protector included, so I had to buy that separately. Aside from that, this case seems like a very good value. I recommend it if you don't need a bulky, waterproof case.UPDATE: the yellow definitely does show dirt, and the polymer is porous enough that you can't get it off. I've tried various cleansers plus a "magic eraser" sponge, all to no avail. So you can get a hi-vis colored case and accept that it'll get dingy-looking, or you can get an earth-tone cover which will hide dirt, but if you drop your phone in the woods, you'll never find it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Cases like the Otterbox's are nice *by E***T on Reviewed in the United States on August 19, 2014* I was looking for a durable case to provide basic protection to my iPhone without adding a lot of bulk. Cases like the Otterbox's are nice, but they add so much bulk to the phone that it makes it difficult to carry in a pocket (especially women's dress pant pockets). This Magpul case provided exactly what I was looking for. A reasonable level of bump & drop protection for the edges of the phone, without adding significant bulk. I've had silicone or TPU cases for other phones, but they always end up stretching and didn't fit tightly to begin with. This case has a nice tight fit, but can easily be removed if needed. Connector openings are appropriately sized and I haven't had problems with stock or aftermarket power connector interference.
