My two guinea pigs fit comfortably in it for trips to the vet, and I always get compliments on it. It is very well-made, and the handles are connected to the solid sides, not to the the door, so you don’t have to worry about it popping open. This is a very sturdy, well made, and attractive carrier. No assembly required either! This will easily accommodate 2-3 adult rats. Possibly more if they are small or juveniles. This is a small animal carrier. I would not recommend it for cats - it's too small... unless it's a small/young kitten. I wish it either came with a water bottle or had a way to hang a water bottle. Not a big deal since my rats are not in it very long. Just for a trip to the vet or when I'm cleaning their cage. It's more expensive than other small animal carriers, but excellent quality - you get what you pay for. Sturdy, and smart. It has three ways that you can open it for your pet which proved to be of great help for my daughter’s Greek Tortoise. We needed something to transport and keep him in while we went on a camping trip. This carrier allowed us to bring the little guy along! It was perfect in that it had a clear top that could let sunlight in for him since we couldn’t bring his lamp. It’s the perfect size and I’m sure could work for many Kinds of small pets. Loved that there were many vents, and all the openings made it easy to clean. We have used it a few times now and so glad we got it.
