He has only tried them once, they are pretty hard to use for him. I would recommend starting them on carpet first. They are very well built though and I'm sure will outlast how fast his feet are growing. They truly are size adjustable and have great ankle support. 'm going to give him a walking stick to help with his balance while he learns to use them. **UPDATE** My son hated these the first year, but just before he turned 4 we got them out again since we were going to a roller skating party. Finallly the skill clicked in his head and now he loves them! He is 4.5 and wears an 11 shoe so they are pretty tight on him now. We will probably be getting this pair in a medium for him. They are a huge hit when any child comes to our house they all want to try them out! They are comfortable and super durable.
