A: I don't know what it uses but I do know it is the best sharpener I've ever had. Fabulous bit of kit. Knives, scissors, my mother in laws tongue, sharpens them all!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good sharpener if handled with care

Handy little gadget to have in the kitchen. Even though it’s plastic it does have a sturdy feel to it. The suction cup at the bottom can slip when using the sharpener (minus 1 star) but being careful, you can hold the base down when drawing the knife towards you giving a sturdy feel. When sharpening a knife you can see the grindings on each pass leaving a nice sharp edge. If your knife is blunt it may take a few passes to sharpen but will do the task for you. Overall, with a little care it’s a handy tool to have around.
