## Description

The Kuru Toga Is A Mechanical Pencil Which Core Is Kept Sharp. It Has A Kuru Toga Engine That The Core Rotates Little By Little While You Are Writing. You Can Always Write With Constant Thinness And Density.

Review: Best pencil I've ever used - I guess I'll start off by saying I'm a bit of a pencil connoisseur. I've bought plenty of nice pens and pencils, most with some novelty like Dr Grip or Zebra Delguard, and I bought this pencil as a replacement for an old, cheaper Kuru Toga I had used for about a year. Although I purchased this simply as an addition to my collection, since I received this I have hardly used anything else. First let me say that Kuru Toga pencils have the best output. It's very difficult nowadays for me to go back to other pencils which result in broader lead strokes, especially when I'm using it for subjects such as physics and calculus where I'm constantly scribbling out tiny symbols and equations. The rotating tip in these pencils significantly does allow for a finer pencil stroke (and incidentally saves lead and paper space). Bearing that in mind, this particular pencil is the perfect version of the Kuru Togas. I love everything about it. This pencil has a bit of weight to it, which most mechanical pencils lack. That's not to say it's uncomfortable though. The mechanism in the tip adds enough weight to perfectly balance the pencil right in the center of where it's gripped, and I have literally written hours upon hours nonstop with it in complete comfort. On top of that, the pencil looks absolutely amazing. The shaft is matted black plastic that looks like metal and looks sleek and cool, while the grip is textured and feels and looks great. Everything about it is cool and has a unique aura of class and sophistication. My only little irrelevant complaint is that the window which shows the tip spinning is rather small (most other Kuru Togas have windows which wrap around the pencil so you can perpetually see the logo spinning as you write). However, this just adds to the subtlety which makes this pencil so fashionably great. So, this pencil is perfect. It feels great, it looks great, and it performs great. The last Kuru Toga I had has lasted now for more than a year, and the quality of this pencil is so fantastic I expect to be using it for years to come. It is absolutely perfect.
Review: More Consistent High Quality Mechanical Pencil - I use this mechanical pencils in school for high quality writing that looks neat consistent without the need to constantly sharpen. (which is why I use mechanical pencils over standard wooden pencils) This mechanical pencil fulfills this need, some other lower quality pencils I use just don’t do the job as well as the Uni Kuru Toga Roulette. Pros - The build quality is great - The grip is surprisingly comfortable - The spinning lead feature is good - The design is very nice Cons - Writing in cursive doesn’t spin the lead - You need to press a little bit harder to spin the lead Firstly I will state the obvious the build quality is great, and the design of it is slim and sleek without unnecessary parts protruding out. The grip as well feels comfortable as well which I thought wouldn’t be the case after writing for several hours, however I was wrong. However you don’t by this pencil just for the build quality you buy this pencil with the rotating lead in mind. Which I think is implemented finely, however the system isn’t perfect. For instance for cursive writers the spinning of the lead wouldn’t always actuate, and for people who write normally you do need to apply slightly more pressure than just putting the pencil on paper. (You could probably get used to it overtime) Overall if you’re looking to buy this pencil to have consistent writing I think it is a great buy the spinning lead whilst not perfect definitely does as advertised and the build quality is very nice. I would definitely recomend this to people who want a high quality mechanical pencil that lasts long, and people who want an extra layer of consistency to their handwriting. As for people who write a lot cursive I don’t think it is a deal breaker that the lead won’t always spin after every letter (mainly because it would still spin after every word, and the pencil still feels great) however due to the price I would maybe consider other similar quality options. TL DR High quality, designed well, feels comfortable, writes consistently. No huge cons, but takes a little bit of time to adjust the amount of pressure when pressing on the paper when writing to turn the lead, and cursive writers don’t benefit as much from the design.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does the tip retract? I'm worried about putting it in my pocket.**
A: It does not retract. I've got three of these for each jacket I wear so I don't worry about forgetting to take a pencil. So far no problems with the tip...

**Q: is the body and cap a metal material**
A: No the body and eraser cap are plastic material. However the grip, the end cap, and the lead sleeve seem to be metal.

**Q: Do you need to buy a special kind of lead for it?**
A: Any 0.5mm lead will work, but the specific Kurotoga lead is softer on the outside and is purportedly more effective with the mechanism. For very dark writing, I prefer Neox lead but it can smudge/smear a little. My second favorite is Ain Stein lead, which almost never smudges and lasts a little longer (not quite as soft as Neox).

**Q: How durable is this? I am a graduate student in EE and math and break so many of the best mechanical pencils from staples and other office stores.**
A: I actually bought this mp to add to my mechanical pencil collection. I now have about eight mps, all different. Therefore, I could not provide any info regarding its durability. I can say that this is a beautiful, finely crafted instrument. It may be the best in terms of appearance. I really don't think you would go wrong if you selected this one. Best of luck!!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ After two years, it is the best writing utensil I've ordered
*by M***N on April 10, 2023*

I am pretty vocal about my writing supplies. I need the right pens, paper, pencils, whatever. I write long-hand and I do it a lot. I have dozens of hand-written notebooks filled from cover-to-cover. Over the years, I've written with some of the best pens on the market and have tried dozens of pencils looking for the best one. I had almost given up hope, but two years ago, I bought this one. This pencil is by far the best I've used for writing notes. I have tiny, precise handwriting and this thing never lets me down. I even prefer it over pen these days. The only downside to this pencil is that I'm not a fan of a knurled grip, but that was easily overcome. I also should say, as far a knurl goes, this one is pretty smooth. If you like something like the knurl on a Zebra F-701, this one might not be "grippy" enough for you. I have used this pen with various 0.5 mm leads, but the Uni Kura Toga lead is by far the best for use with it. I recommend snagging up some extras. Because the lead will stay sharp, your lead will probably last longer than you're used to with a mechanical pencil, but you don't want to run out. Another down point for some may be the eraser. Like most mechanical pencils the eraser is meh. But, I've always treated it like an emergency only tool anyway. I carry a stick eraser with me at all times anyway. If you have tiny handwriting like I do, you can't do better.
