There are lots of things I like about this hand blender - 1) Kenwood's raspberry red matched perfectly with my red KitchenAid mixer. 2) Its powerful 3) has great accessories and comes with a large bowl. 4) I liked that it has a base to neatly keep all of the bits and pieces together. 5) Velouté and cream soups are turning out less lumpy than with my original Braun Blender which broke before I got this one. 5) all the attachments are metal which makes them sturdier, easier to clean, and won't turn orange/pink if I decide to puree carrots or beats. There are 2 small reasons why I didn't give this a 5star rating. 1) Though the base is practical for storing, I do find myself struggling with it whenever I want to use it - all the bits and pieces are in the way and the bowl's cover is so tightly put on, that it's sometimes hard to open it without first taking all the accessories out of the way and 2) I sort of wish that the bowl were made of a slightly sturdier material (at least the bottom of it) - I used the hand blender to puree hummus in the large bowl (the day after I got the Kenwood,) and it left some scratches on the bottom of the bowl. I like having my cooler kitchen appliances for show - and this one is definitely out in plain sight (I also use it on a daily basis). I'm very happy with the purchase and would highly recommend it - especially as an Amazon buy (which was about 70€ cheaper than other online and in-store options!)

I've been a fan of Kenwood products for years, but not any longer. I will never buy another of their appliances, and I will tell everyone I know what an appalling customer service they have. I would have given zero stars if that was possible. I bought this appliance at the end of April this year (invoice dated 29th). On June 3rd I was using it to make mayonnaise, and was horrified to see small black specks appearing in the mix. On closer inspection they seem to be either hard plastic or possibly metal shavings. Needless to say, I contacted Kenwood via their customer support facility on their website. Their response was to tell me to take it to the nearest service agent for repair. The nearest agent is in another town, and to get there would involve at least three buses and take the better part of a whole day there and back. Bearing in mind that this appliance is just ONE MONTH old, I was disappointed with this response, so I replied to say I couldn't take it to the service agent, and I would like to return it for a refund. Their reply beggars belief! THEY HAVE TOLD ME THAT THE GUARANTEE ONLY COVERS REPAIR, NOT REFUNDS OR REPLACEMENTS. I've used capitals so that people don't miss this point. I've tried to return it through Amazon, but it's gone beyond their 30-day policy, so that doesn't seem to be an option. Trading Standards here I come! Edited to add that I finally found a chat option on here, and Amazon have been brilliant. They sent me a pre-paid label to return the blender for a full refund. I was offered the option of a replacement, but once bitten... Many thanks, Amazon, I'll go look for a different brand now.
