A priest recently recommended the RSV translation to me. This Bible contains the complete RSV Catholic Bible (Oxford Press), with a brief introduction, pages for family history entries, a 14-page appendix, and three pages of common Catholic prayers and devotions. The pages are edged with gold. The vinyl case is sewn and well-made, soft and matte with a faux leather grain that is comfortable in the hand, not rubbery, shiny, or sticky. The pages are thin, but not overly so, but be careful if you decide to highlight or underline. The print is small, but that's to be expected with a compact Bible. My only wish is that the publisher had also printed "Holy Bible" on the front of the case, because it only appears on the spine. I am very pleased and excited to have this highly portable and high quality compact Bible. It would make a thoughtful gift, too! The cover is beautiful, high quality leather sewn perfectly with a rich gold zipper and medal on the zipper pull. The paper is the typical rather thin Bible paper necessary for a thin edition, but pleasant to the touch and the font is easily read. The RSVCE translation is word for word and easily recognizable.
