It's small enough to sit unobtrusively on my desk but the digits are are large enough to view quickly! The "time" is SO EASY TO SET! Date! Indoor temp! Time zone! Review: This clock is very easy to read with large, bold numbers. So far it has kept good time (I've had it a couple months, I believe). I absolutely love the dimmable display. It goes from completely dark (off) to very bright, controlled by an easily accessed wheel in the back. I also like that it has the date. A couple included features that I don't care much about are an easily accessed snooze bar on top of the clock, and a temperature display. The temp seems to be reasonably accurate but I have another thermometer in my room that I'm used to checking so the one on this clock isn't necessary in my situation. The two thermometers are generally within one or 2 degrees of one another. HOWEVER.... the clock could be improved for my personal preference. First, I would like to have a RED display. My understanding from a casual astronomy hobby is that red is better for the eye in the dark. Its less likely to stimulate the brain so if you get up at night and look at the clock, you are less likely to be roused. Second, turning off the alarm is a real PITA. The "alarm off" button is the second from the left (when looking at the front of the clock) in a row of identical buttons on the back. VERY hard to find when sleepy. Fortunately, I don't need the alarm feature often or this would be a bigger issue. The alarm off button should be easier to access and distinguish from the other buttons. Finally, I would REALLY like a clock that tells me the DAY of the week. This feature is very hard to find. Having said all that, this is the closest clock I could find to my ideal clock, and remains the best choice IMHO. This thing is essentially a hotel room alarm clock that is factory pre-programmed with the time and date in the US Eastern time zone. The 2032 battery holds the programming so that when it is plugged into a power source, it comes alive with the date and time, which in my case was 2 minutes fast. I'm assuming it also has the dates of future DST changeovers programmed into it, but it does not pull down time signals from the atomic clock or any other source. The second paragraph of the Instructions, headed "How does the autoset technology works [sic]? says as much for anyone who cares to take the time to read it. **Q: Is this product any good?** A: Yes, very good! I got it for my daughter. It automatically keeps up with the time, just like our cell phones. The alarm works great. I recommend it. **Q: how long is the power cord?** A: Power cord is 5 feet long. **Q: Can it turn off for 10 minutes and go back on. And still have the battery, will it charge?** A: All I can say is that we had a short few minute power out and with other old digital clocks, I had to reset the clock.
