I’ve loaned mine out, then worry I won’t get it back. My sister-in-law recently got her first cat after having dogs her whole adult life so I bought her this copy to read and keep. It’s just a sweet story of rescue and years of love and dedication. It seemed like a cute book about a cute cat. It is, but it is a lot more than that, it is about all of us and how a community can come together. And yes, it is about a cute cat too. I would have loved to meet Dewey. This book also gave me comfort, having just very recently lost my 18 year old cat, who had also been abandoned near a downtown building, but fortunately he found us. So, I was not prepared for just how sad the last chapters of the book were and I cried. But, Dewey's story carried on and the end of the book is very uplifting. I won't be able to read it again anytime soon, but believe me, I will read it again. And then probably again sometime. A wonderful story about a wonderful cat and town! *by T***N on September 26, 2022* As a cat lover, I don't know how I missed the story of Dewey until recently... But I am so glad that I did eventually find it. It is both a heart-warming story of a truly remarkable, loved, and loving cat, and an equally lovely town and people. Very highly recommended! I will warn you though, that the last few chapters will tear at your heart strings... I just wish that I had known about Dewey when he was still alive... He reminds me so much of my own unique and incredible orange tabby, Nettie, who passed in 2011 at 16.
