### ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I loved everything but one detail of the book

*by K***S on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on February 24, 2015*

I loved the idea of this book; I liked D'Arcy and Sol very much as characters, I liked the idea of the world, I liked everything about the plot and where things were headed. It read beautifully and I was very engaged, eager to find out how things ended. I found the French in the book to be pretty interesting and I think the author did a swell job with the relationships and details and all that; this could have become a series, I think. It had a lot of the right focus in the right areas and I was actually pretty moved by and happy about the romance aspect; it came through properly in this book without it becoming some YA cliche that made me cringe or gag. It has a lot of promise and made a lot of good images in my head. It felt beautiful and meaningful. (I can't say much else without spoilers)The part I hated and which stood out of place like a hideous blemish on this otherwise beautiful book was the Nomas. The author could have done something better with the way she created this group of people; there were some good aspects, but some that were really out the blue and were very out of place with the way the rest of the book had been going. It felt unnecessary it didn't paint any nice imagery. I didn't like it; I wasn't a fan.I just re imagined some of those ugly/strange details, however, and overlooked some things in favor of something that I felt fit far better with the rest of the story, and got through the remaining section of the book and loved everything else about it. Other than that one big blemish, this book was a pretty satisfying read.

    Oddly disappointing SPOILERS!!!

*by L***Y on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on June 26, 2014*

For some odd reason I thought that the description promised something else instead of what happened in the book. I enjoyed the first part of the book but in the latter part I became annoyed. Sol and D'arcy's relationship seemed to change too quickly once they discovered that they had been "desk buddies" for two years. I don't recall any embarrassment and there didn't appear to be "you aren't what I expected". Also I am personally not a fan of "We barely know each other but since we are attracted to each other let's have sex" so that bothered meAnd then other things didn't make sense. Since she had taken the wrong baby wouldn't her brother have found a way to send a cryptic text asking her to go to such and such a place so her grandfather could meet his great granddaughter or why didn't someone wait for her at the apartment? Why the overly elaborate game? And don't get me started on the F bombs that started falling at a certain point. Would that word in an alternate time line be part of the vocabulary? And last but not least how could her grandfather have betrayed his daughter and son-in-law seeing he was living in Belgium and they were in the US?Some of it was good but in the end more questions than answers and if this is a standalone then they won't be answered. But some of those questions were plot related.

    Excellent book

Great storyline even if some parts did seem to really stretch it for convenience of the plot. excellent romance. Be prepared for uncomfortable situations and heavy language but most of it fits with the characters.
