Best camera for MacBook pro
Having experimented with three different external cameras, my search for the perfect device came to an end with the Lumina 4K AI camera! From the outset, the setup process was a breeze, thanks to the abundance of helpful video tutorials provided. What truly sets the Lumina apart is not only its user-friendly interface but also the exceptional image quality it delivers. The product's packaging exudes sophistication, reminiscent of Apple's renowned design standards. The sleek and impressive aesthetics are just a prelude to the outstanding customer service experience. I had the pleasure of scheduling a Zoom call with Ayman, who went above and beyond by meticulously reviewing and adjusting all my settings to tailor them to my preferences. One standout feature is the AI cameraman, which adds a futuristic touch to the Lumina experience. The webcam seamlessly identifies and tracks your face's movements, ensuring that you are always centered within the frame. This dynamic feature enhances the overall video conferencing experience and sets Lumina apart as a leader in the market. In summary, I cannot recommend the Lumina 4K AI camera enough. Its unparalleled ease of use, top-notch customer service, and cutting-edge AI technology make it a standout choice and, in my opinion, the best in the market.

Fantastic webcam!
I recently purchased the Lumina Webcam, and I am absolutely thrilled with its performance! Let me share my detailed experience and highlight the best features of this remarkable device. Cameraman Feature. The Cameraman feature is like having a personal director for my video calls. It intelligently tracks and frames me as I move, ensuring that I am always the center of attention. This feature is perfect for dynamic presentations or when I need to step away from the desk momentarily. Badge feature. Now I get to put my name and company logo in my window, during work calls. Very useful feature. Stylish Design. The sleek and modern design of the Lumina Webcam is a standout on my desk. It’s not just a webcam; it’s a statement piece that complements my workspace aesthetics. Magnetized Privacy Feature. Privacy is paramount, and Lumina understands this. The magnetized privacy cover is a brilliant addition, allowing me to easily shield the lens when the webcam is not in use. It’s a simple yet effective solution for maintaining my privacy. Smooth Autofocus and Exposure. The autofocus feature is a game-changer. It effortlessly adjusts to my movements, ensuring that I’m always in focus. Additionally, the webcam handles exposure beautifully, even in challenging lighting conditions. No more worrying about being too dark or too bright on camera! Color Tuning Controls. With the color tuning controls, I have the power to adjust the video feed to match my preferences or the mood of the meeting. Whether I want a warmer tone for a friendly chat or a cooler tone for professional settings, these controls give me the flexibility to customize my appearance. During a video conference with Lumina’s support team, I had the pleasure of interacting with Ayman. His expertise and patience were remarkable. Ayman not only tuned my camera settings for optimal performance but also addressed all my questions. His friendly demeanor and willingness to go the extra mile left a lasting impression. The Lumina Webcam combines top-notch video quality, smart features, and exceptional customer support. If you’re looking for a reliable webcam, look no further. Lumina has truly exceeded my expectations!

Fantastic camera
The Lumina is a great external camera especially for people who predominantly use laptops. It is so small that it is not a distraction and won't take up space in your briefcase for those on the go. The clarity is great, it rotates 360 degrees and is amazingly adjustable for color. The software comes with a whole host of professional functions and is remarkably intuitive to use. I tried several cameras in the inexpensive and mid-range and was just frustrated with their limited abilities like three choices for zooming-in for a closer view. The Lumina zooms on a scale that offers so much more. I sound like I work for the company but I'm very picky and so rarely overwhelmed with a products quality of design and function. For the extra time I spent sending them back the price of Lumina was a no-brainer. The software offers several custom options for variable settings when you switch from one room to another so you don't have to reconfigure color, lighting, and distance every time. Highly recommended! The customer service is also excellent. A Lumina agent invited me for a one to one consultation on zoom a week after purchase and I learned a great deal about the advanced settings to personalize the camera's software to my preferences and needs.

Buggy software that does not connect to camera most times
Nice and small with dual mics. Good build quality. Only problem is that its low light picture quality is poor and the AI software they talk about seldom can find the camera or connect. I have to unconnected the camera and connect it at a certain point in the software to get it to work and today I spent 3 hours and gave up finally and packed it up. This is a start up company and may not be here in the future to honor any warranties. For the amount of money they charge you get a better picture with the $139 Logetec Creative pro camera which is big and bulky but better software and works all the time.' I spent an extra $90 and bought a GoPro. Best decision I made as the picture is almost 6K and you can tell when I switch to that camera. I attach it to a boom stand like a mic but made for cameras and it allows me to position it anywhere I want. If you want to spent $200 on a webcam then go to GoPro site and catch their sale of a GoPro10 black for $299 which includes two day shipping. Amazon does not sell at GoPro's current sale price. Plus I get to use this camera as a pocketable state of the art camera with incredible stabilization and features. Plus waterproof down to 33 feet so I can use it at the pool and beach. When we go out I leave it at one end of my open floor plan house so I can see the entire house using their iPhone app. So for $300 I got the best webcam out there, a security camera to watch my dog and house when I am not home and a excellent video camera that easily fits into a pocket or attaches to me or what I am wearing in about 25 ways. Get something else. I am 72 with 50 years in the technical business producing instructional videos, presentations, promotional and advertising videos for my company. I know what works and does not work and this Lumina is a great idea that is both grossly overpriced and buggy. Starts ups have to eventually stop trying to fix the bugs and earn money to pay the people who are fixing the bugs. Many new companies rush to market because they need the cash or "it is good enough that most people will not notice".

Outstanding Webcam: Lumina Delivers Superior Quality and Performance
I've been using the Lumina webcam for a few weeks now, and I couldn't be more impressed with its performance. As someone who frequently attends virtual meetings and creates video content, having a high-quality webcam is essential, and Lumina has exceeded my expectations. The image clarity is outstanding, even in low light conditions. The colors are vibrant and true-to-life, making my videos look professional without the need for additional lighting. The autofocus is quick and accurate, ensuring that I'm always in sharp focus, which is a game-changer for my presentations and recordings. Setting up the Lumina was a breeze. The plug-and-play functionality meant I was up and running in no time, and the software provided is intuitive and easy to use. I also appreciate the sleek, compact design which fits perfectly on my monitor without being obtrusive. One of the standout features for me is the AI-powered adjustments. The Lumina automatically optimizes the image based on the environment, so I don't have to constantly fiddle with settings. This has saved me a lot of time and hassle, especially during back-to-back meetings. Overall, the Lumina webcam is an excellent investment for anyone looking to enhance their video quality for professional or personal use. The performance, ease of use, and advanced features make it a top-notch choice. I highly recommend it!

You need this camera!
Yes, I hesitated based on the cost and some negative reviews about using an Alan wrench to connect/tighten the camera with the base. I can happily share that the hype is overrated. This is one of the best tech purchases I've made. Pro's: - The quality of the camera/image is fantastic! - The software, AI cameraman, and color card will make you look better than in real life. - The onboarding call to explain features, help me tweak settings, and explain the different features was incredibly helpful. Ayman answered all of my questions, asked great follow-up questions to clarify that all of my expectations were met, and wanted to ensure they delivered five-star service. I'm used to paying $5-10k for this type of onboarding experience with software companies in my day job. The fact that Lumina offers this for everyone is amazing. Cons: Only one, and it has nothing to do with the camera. I'm using a Dell 27" 4k monitor and connect to my 16" MacBook Pro M1 laptop with a USB-C cable (not HDMI/USB-C hub). When I connected the camera to the monitor, the Lumina Plus (AI/cameraman) features would not automatically turn on. I would have to manually turn it off and back on in Teams and Zoom. I sent a quick support question before my onboarding call, and they recommended I try connecting directly to the laptop (not monitor or hub), which worked. I prefer a single cable to the laptop but I understand. I tried the Center Cam (also available on Amazon), the Logitech C920, and the built-in 1080p camera on my Mac. The Lumina outperforms all of them - no question. The other nice thing about my onboarding call with Ayman is that he asked about my lighting setup, helped make suggestions, and even provided feedback about a lamp placement. He went above and beyond to ensure I was happy.

Pretty good, but not stunning and comes with sognificant issues
This is a pretty good camera. Certainly it's better than the HD Logitech camera I'm replacing. The image quality is very good and the software is a very useful tool, although it's definitely not as impressive as the marketing hype. For Mac users, one important point is that the software seems to have been updated per the Apple requirement for "modern extensions." That said, there are some really annoying issues, some of which other reviewers have noted: The privacy cover is just brain-dead stupid. Either it was designed by idiots or smart engineers were ordered to come up with a "solution" that saves 4.7 cents per unit. If you don't want to spend a lot of time looking for a dropped cover on the desk or floor, make a hinge out of tape or something. Or grab some duct tape and make a boxy little hood for the whole camera. The mount is flimsy and fiddly. It doesn't fit securely on my main monitor so I had to do a bit of MacGyvering. And the cord stiffness tends to twist the camera out of position, so I used an adhesive-backed mount on the back of the monitor, and a small cable tie, to keep things fairly stable. As I said, the software is quite good. The AI "Cameraman" is impressive and really useful. The software interface is, as others have said, simple, but I don't find it particularly intuitive. And it just feels like there should be *more* there. The fact that this camera comes with no manual and that there seems to be no downloadable manual is especially annoying. If it's too much trouble to write a manual for the product, maybe you should be selling products for which no one would need or want manuals. Lumina pushes, with popups and email, an "offer" for an "onboarding call" with its support staff. They can't be bothered to provide a manual and they want customers to schedule a call with them to learn how to use the product? For a webcam? Really? That's insulting. Finally, in the series of emails I've received from the manufacturer I noticed a request to provide a review for their website, with an offer of a small reward for doing so. I think of this as sleazy and dishonest business behavior. (Note that I have *not* seen evidence that the manufacturer is offering inducements for providing Amazon reviews.) Overall, this is a pretty good camera, not as impressive as the marketing hype, and it comes with a few annoying issues.

Makes me look better and more professional at video conferences
Looking your best and having a professional appearance at video conferences is important. This camera and especially the software coming with it helps at that. The packaging is very high end. The camera itself is rather small and unobtrusive. As others mentioned the magnetic lid could be a tad more secure, and personally I would have liked to be able to put it over the LEDs as those are too bright and distracting. I ended up with a couple layers of post-it to tame them. Now the camera itself is nice, but the more important product details are contributed by the post-processing software. It has a lot of settings, though the introductory tutorial does a good job explain them. But still: think DSLR, not point and shoot. However spending a few minutes with the software is well worth it. My personal favorite is the camera-man feature. The processing could be smoother, at anything but the lower settings it can be very jittery and gesturing (or discreetly trying to grab and use a tissue) can have some disturbing motion effects. But at low settings it is rather nice. And I do like that I can get up from my desk and move a bit and the camera will follow me. There are some slight rough edges with the software, but I am sure those will be fixed and they are not impacting use much. I wish the software could be used with FaceTime and QuickTime on the Mac, but that currently does not work. However this is a restriction on Apple's side, they are currently precluding the use of "virtual cameras". The Lumina can still be used as "raw" camera with those apps, but then there are none of the nice post processing effects. I have hope that Apple will permit this in the future. That being said, the camera and software works well with major video conferencing apps, which is the main purpose for me.

See for yourself
It's a remarkable upgrade from your run of the mill cheap webcam. The cameraman feature to keep you centered is pretty neat, and overall I look a ton sharper/better. Although Zoom, etc. have blurring and lighting features, they don't work nearly as well as Lumina did.

Small package, big impact
Really good product. I especially like the size as I initially thought / assumed it was bigger, but it's really the size of a small cigarette lighter (I don't smoke, but only reference that came to mind...), which means you can actually carry it with you, not only use it at home or the office. And for the functionality, it did what it claimed. Good auto-focus, good functionality. Great picture quality and easy integration with all video apps. Actually no integration as it worked seamlessly which was another unexpected benefit. Generally all good with a few unexpected positive suprises!
