They are close enough to the same width across the strings to pull it off (within a couple mm), though they are quite a bit shorter along the strings--they leave a gap of around 3/8" on either side, which doesn't look great but is less unappealing than I expected. There are also some mounting rings available specifically to cover those gaps, though, if you look around. Obviously, if you're simply replacing the same type of pickup, or perhaps P90 types, you will have a different experience. They also have the extra wires you need for coilsplitting and such. You'll have a hot wire, shield wire, and ground wire, plus two tap wires soldered together that you don't even need to touch if you don't want. So far, I'm not worried about coil tapping and have no plans to explore that feature.Soundwise, they are very bluesy. The high mids seem to be suppressed or muffled, which gives them a mellow sound, but the treble is still pretty strong, so they can sound sweet, too. They're fairly low output, so you can expect things to stay fairly clean unless your gain is cranked or you use a pedal. They're also very close to equal output, so be prepared to spend some time trying to balance their heights. One thing I noticed is that the bridge pickup might be quieter when you play notes near the nut, but will actually be louder than the neck pickup when you start playing in the upper octave, which I guess is past that high-mid "scoop" in the natural eq.Overall, I've been playing for hours on end in the days since I got these. The knockaround guitar I installed them in doesn't sound like my Gibsons now, but it sounds very good for the money paid, and with a sound all its own. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Great for the price *by T***Y on Reviewed in the United States on November 12, 2019* Theses are a good set of mini humbuckers for the price. Most of the mini hums for sale are covered without adjustable poles. these have them, so you can actually balance the pickup for an even response. They have a moderate output, and they are bright, but not thin. they don't crunch like a full size hum bucker, but they crunch enough for most rock music, but aren't the best choice for heavier stuff. They also have a nice clear and bright clean tone. country, funk, and surf tones are nice with these pickups, but i wouldn't suggest using them for jazz. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet Pick-ups *by T***Y on Reviewed in the United States on April 29, 2019* I upgrade my Chibson Les Paul with these pick-ups along with some quality CTS 500k push-pull pots. I can't be happier. For the price point, these are really nice-sounding pickups in all tone selections including the split-coil setting. You get the warmth in the neck selection and the brightness in the bridge. They are fairly punchy, too, which I like. The wiring diagram was easy to follow and I was able to get everything working just right on the first attempt. I framed them in dog-eared pick-up rings because the Chibson folks can't router a pick-up cavity to save their souls. They routered the bridge for a P90 and the neck for a P90-plus. LOL Good thing their customer service was good and they made me happy with a favorable resolution. Anyway, the dog-eared rings covered up that little mess and gave the guitar a real cool vintage look to it. Check out the pic. I would recommend these pick-ups..
