I clean and dry it immediately after using. However I mostly use my acrylic cutting board as it is larger. The handle of the knife is finished the same way and it is extremely sharp. The question is made in Alaska. **Q: How deep is the bowl** A: Not very deep I chop half an onion just fine, then scrape it out and then chop the next thing. **Q: Is this knife made in alaska, or it is made in china. i have one that is made in alaska, then i wanted the bowl, when it came it was made in china.** A: This set is made in Anchorage, Alaska.
