It is well build and looks great at the same time. I've been using it with the strap, but it does have the ability to be put on your belt and there is an optional body "harness" you can pick up and tack on this case, plus others to carry your rig. I don't know how useful the belt carrying loop is, not suitable for me. The lens and camera are reasonable weighty so on a belt I don't think would be the best, though I suppose doable with a large belt and keep it to the side so the lens doesn't bang into your leg as you walk. Anyway, quality product, provides extra space as I mentioned so my whole camera and lens are taken care of. The price is quite reasonable, I'm very pleased.
