Great router with a very BIG flaw
I've been using eeros for little over 2 years now. So I have a solid idea on how they perform. Pros: - VERY easy to set up and use (almost too streamlined) - Connection has been consistent with decent speeds. I have gigabit internet and the wifi 6e eero can push it out like a champ... within 10ft of it. Speed drops significantly after that. - The app is slick and easy to use. - Amazon devices like echos can connect to it seamlessly CONS - Out of the box, the eero firmware is terrible. You much update it straight away for it to be useable. - After about 10ft, wifi speeds drop a lot. I have a 6E eero as my main and 2 other wifi 6 eero nodes that connected to it. The two eero nodes only pump out 60-100 Mb/s, which is 1/10th of my internet speed! And they arent very far from the main. - You cannot bind devices to a specific node at will. This is an issue with troubleshooting connections and with speeds. THE MAJOR FLAW: Eero has paywalled the most useful features behind a $99 / year subscription. Features include: - Basic parental controls - Basic network monitoring - Ad block I switched to an Asus zenWifi mesh system, which includes all these features FOR FREE. The nodes are also much faster. With asus zenWifi, the nodes are running at 200-300 Mb/s at the same location as the previous eeros. This is a 3x-4x improvement! Don't waste your money on an eero. Do yourself a favor and get asus zenWifi

There fine, my concern is my subscription for the internet security? 99.99$ called on 5/24/26 he hung up.

2 pack is enough to cover 4500’ !
Really good stuff but had to return for: 1. Price decreased by $150 two days later. And Amazon (who owns Eero) would rather me return than keep. Took 3+ weeks to get credit back. 2. I was led to buy the 3pack because I thought I needed based on the size of my home. Turns out using all 3 made it worse. Taking one pod (unit) out of the set up freed up the signal and speed tremendously! So remember less is more! But this is a terrific system. Only downside is my ring video doorbell. The old system talked to it better and now I have to get an upgraded video dooorbell to leverage the sheer power and load balance based on device type by Eero. My signal is bleak ! I also have to replace my fuse from 15 to 30 amp to match the upgraded doorbell. That’s why I love technology! It’s not easy or cheap but you get what you put into something

Worst Router Eero has made
Will not connect to my fiber internet no matter what I do. Had ISP out twice and tried with no success! Tried it direct to ONT & tried modem. ISP replaced their devices and still nothing. It’s something with these cause my eero pro connects just fine the eero pro 6E will not. So I’m using the ISP’s device, stuck without functionality in an app for now but I will buy something else that works. I’m very disappointed in eero Update May 01, 2022: https://amplifi.com/alien Purchased the AMPLIFI Alien from Ubiquiti, setup out of the box took me 7 minutes, which included a 5 minute firmware update. The fastest setup I have ever encountered setting up Wi-Fi. The App works beautifully and has more functionality than eero offer in their app. One unit handles up to 3,000 sq feet, can pair additional units, made by a company that makes servers & reliable internet devices trusted around the world. The router tells you everything on the front of the router & it’s touchscreen. I have never been in love like this with a router. I am obsessed with the way it works & the multiple gigabit ports on the back. This is what I replaced my eeros with & hope you can find a mesh network system that actually works out of the box. This new system handles more than the 2.3 gbps eeros offer, try 7.7 gbps or 7685 mbps.
