Its rain-resistant, dual-action scent and taste deterrent protects plants year-round without harming animals, making it safe for use around children and pets. ## Description Deer Out is a dual-deterrent deer repellent that works both by smell and taste. Deer find the strong peppermint scent of Deer Out deer repellent too strong of a sensation for their sensitive noses. A deer's sense of smell is 1000 times greater than that of humans. Deer Out deer repellent strong peppermint scent creates a cool menthol burning sensation that deer are repulsed by. (Deer Out deer repellent has a fresh minty scent to us humans, sort of like a peppermint patty.) But even long after we can’t smell it anymore, Deer Out deer repellent is still too strong for the deer's nose. No need to worry though. Deer Out deer repellent won’t harm the deer at all. But it will stop them from eating your plantings. Deer Out’s combination of ingredients creates a very strong flavor and smell that deer find unappetizing. Review: Really Works - We live in a suburban area but have woods at the end of our road. It seems like lately a roving gang of around 5 deer have been meandering down our street really early in the morning to munch on everyone's shrubs. We have huge euonymous bushes flanking our driveway and, lo and behold, this year when the spring came, it turned out that the deer were eating all of the new foliage off of the shrubs. They couldn't reach the top, so that had leaves, but all of the sides of the shrub were decimated. It looked terrible. I didn't want to use a harsh pesticide, so after some research, I found Deer-Out repellent spray. I wasn't very hopeful, because it was definitely a pretty bad situation and the shrubs were in bad shape. Anyway, I received the product, which was carefully wrapped and shipped, and immediately unwrapped it and went to work. I sprayed all of the shrubs with it, even areas where there were just little stumps of new growth. I covered the leaves that were left and the bare wood as well. Within a few days I saw that it was working. The deer were definitely repelled by the scent and new leaves started to grow. The bottle reminds you to spray again on new growth, which I did, and I am really happy to report that the shrubs look almost normal again! Only a few items to note: the smell is kind of gross (but no big deal), I sprayed when it was kind of windy, and a little got on my arm, which made it itchy for a few hours, and the new leaves have little bits of discolored spots on them. It is very small, like a spattering of much lighter green, than the leaves on the top of the shrub where I didn't spray. To me, all of that is small potatoes, in light of the fact that this spray WORKED LIKE A CHAMP!!!! It really keeps the deer away and saved my 20 year old massive shrubs. I am almost ready to order another bottle. Don't hesitate to buy this, it really did do what it promised. Review: Works. - This kept the deer from eating my zinnias. The only hassle is you must apply weekly. ## Features - Minty Fresh Scent - Smells Great to Humans but Deer, Elk and Moose are naturally repelled by our Deer out patented formula. - Wont Wash Off - Two Natural Stickers keeps Deer out on your plants! Is there a problem with the content and should I send it back or ?** A: I had this problem, too. It’s the content. Like another user, I strained it, then used a regular sprayer to apply it. What a pain! The crap was throughout the entire bottle. I’ve since tried another product, but aren’t sure of its efficacy. **Q: Does it work for squirrel?** A: Thank you for your interest in Deer Out repellent... Deer Out contains some of the same ingredients as the Critter out and has been known to work on Squirrels also, but If Squirrels are your only problem your best defense will be our Critter Out repellent which is specifically formulated to repel Squirrels, rats and mice.. **Q: What is the shelf life of the product as packaged** A: Hi Jennifer,Thank you for your inquiry. The shelf life on all our products, ready to use and concentrate is a minimum of 2 years. As long as the product is kept in a cool, dark placed and out of the sun. Thank you again. **Q: Has anybody found a sprayer that works for thick deer repellent?? this stuff turns to impossible gunk, but deer off also clogs any normal sprayer** A: I use deer out. I purchased the spray bottle and concentrated bottle. I use spray and stream and have not had a problem. Be sure you are adding enough water to your bottle and it should never be “gunky.” This deer off has been a life saver to all my flower beds. Love ❤️ DEER OFF! Very satisfied! ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Really Works *by J***R on 11 June 2020* We live in a suburban area but have woods at the end of our road. The only hassle is you must apply weekly. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Beware of the top staying secure *by D***M on 2 August 2026* I love the products. It works very well deterring deer from my plants that aren’t 100% deer resistant. My only complaint is that in my first bottle the top kept popping off and dropped to the ground spilling the contents. This is the second bottle hoping it works better. I think the problem is the straw is too long and doesn’t allow the top to secure and as you squeeze the trigger it loosens somehow. ## Frequently Bought Together - Deer Out 40oz Ready-to-Use Deer Repellent - DEER OUT® 1 Gallon Ready-to-Use Refill - Deer Repellent. - Deer Out 32oz Concentrate Deer Repellent --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.in/products/432923794-40oz-ready-to-use-deer-repellent](https://www.desertcart.in/products/432923794-40oz-ready-to-use-deer-repellent) --- *Product available on Desertcart India* *Store origin: IN* *Last updated: 2026-10-01*
