Is any part of the adjusting arms plastic?** A: Looks like plastic but is actually die-cast metal - zinc or aluminum. Yes you have to make a modification on the bracket of the lathe where the light would go but that is a simple fix. Cut you a block of wood the same size as the bracket on the lathe mount it and use wood screws to mount the light. Works perfect. Will order another one for the other side. Gives out plenty of light and very stable. ### ⭐ It's not quite a good product *by C***L on April 26, 2022* This is a cheap piece of junk and I wasted my money.1. The base joint has no friction. That means you can't swivel and position it as you need for work. Thus it is worthless as a work light.2. The friction of the joints is not going to be enough over time. It will end up flopping around.3. This is on me, but also on them a bit. No power plug and no hex wrenches are included. There is another unit for $3 more that includes those. But even so the failings of (1) and (2) are the same.I rate it a zero. Save your money and get something worth the investment.Or, if you already have one, maybe put the head on an old spring-supported swing arm lamp so it is actually positionable.I'm going to see about returning this and save up for a commercial-quality lamp.Don't buy junk. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Used on a 6x18 surface grinder *by A***R on January 15, 2021* Love it for the price it worked great. I have about 50 machines in my cnc machine shop and the lights I was buying were around the $350.00 mark. went to go on Amazon and bang. Found this. I do only with they put a larger cord on it. I put a 120V plug on it. And it does not come with any bracket mounting screws I used 1/4-20 you can not go larger then this because the milled slots are only that big.
