Good sound at an affordable price. These aren’t going to blow your mind but they sound really good for the price point. Just plug and play. Hook up your choice of subwoofer in the $250 range and you have a great set of speakers for $500 or less. The compact size allows you to place them virtually anywhere.

I picked up the Klipsch R‑40M as part of a full 5.1 system built around the R‑50M fronts and the R‑50C center. My original plan was to use another pair of R‑50M speakers in the back, but they simply didn’t fit in the rear cabinet space I have. The R‑40M ended up being the only model that fit comfortably, so they became my surround channels. In terms of build quality, they feel solid and consistent with the rest of the Reference Next‑Gen line. The copper woofers and updated horn design give them the same visual identity as the larger models, which helps the whole system look cohesive. They’re compact enough to place in tighter spaces without compromising too much on performance. Sonically, the R‑40M does a respectable job as a surround speaker. Effects are clear, directional cues are easy to follow, and they integrate smoothly with the more powerful R‑50M fronts. That said, they are noticeably less powerful than the R‑50M, so you need to spend a little time balancing your levels. Once I bumped their channel trim a bit and adjusted the distance settings, the rear soundstage locked in nicely and felt much more even. They won’t deliver the same fullness or dynamic punch as the larger models, but for rear channels that’s usually not a deal breaker. What matters is clarity and consistency, and the R‑40M handles both well. Movies with active surround mixes feel immersive, and ambient effects wrap around the room without calling attention to the speakers themselves. If you’re building a system where space is limited in the back, the R‑40M is a practical and capable choice. Just be prepared to fine tune your calibration so they match the output of the bigger speakers up front. Once dialed in, they round out a 5.1 setup very effectively.

Fantastic sound quality to my ears, got these used “mint” for 179 and that was a steal, they were never even opened. They feel solid and well made, they’re heavy for the size which makes them feel of a higher quality. Very happy with my purchase

I was disappointed with the sound quality. While the speakers get very good reviews, the sound quality is far too tinny (sharp) for my liking, they were not enjoyable to listen to - I returned them. I replaced them with a pair of Polk XT20 speakers and the sound quality is much better for basically the same price

聴く音楽ジャンルは、ロック、メタル、EDM、J-POPが主です。 90dbを超える高感度帯に属する小型スピーカーを購入するのは初めてです。 とりあえず、メーカーが底にコルクシートを貼ってくれていたので、床から75cmのスピーカー台に直置きで聞いております。 音源はAmazon Musicのハイレゾです。DACはフォステクスのHP-A4です。 スピーカーケーブルはベルデン8460を2mです。 アンプはDENONのAVアンプ（15万くらいのやつです。）ステレオ、Pureモードで聞いています。 ウーファーが小口径にも関わらず、PolkのXT15よりも音圧を感じることに驚きました。 音が凄く前に出てきます。中高音はとても綺麗でレスポンスも早いのですが、刺さる感じはほとんどしないです。 どこまでも伸びていきそうな伸びやかな感じはホーン特有です。これが気持ち良い方にはたまらんのではないでしょうか。価格も考えるととても良いと思います。 意外だったのは、低音も思ったよりは出ていることです（小口径なのでサブウーファーで補強する予定でした）。リアバスレフですが、きちんと壁から30cmほど離してやると良い感じで出ます。 量がないだけで質感は悪くないので、普通に聴く分には、サブウーファーなくても音楽が楽しめます。 ベースの最低音は何となくしか聞こえないので、きちんと下も出したい方は、サブーファー推奨です。 でも、これで良いって方も多いと思います。 ただし、音量を絞って聴く方には向きません。しっかり音圧を感じつつ、スピード感のある音で聴くには、音量をある程度出す必要があります。 小型なので、出し過ぎると低音がボワ付くのが目立ってくるので、適度な音量の範囲は狭いと思います。 軽量でサイズも小さいので、置き場所も困らないです。 質感は、サランネットはマグネットで収まりも良く、ちょっとネットが本体に凹みがあってツライチに近い状態になる構造で、ホコリなどの影響も少ないと思います。ゴールドのメーカーロゴも良い感じです。 本体は価格帯的に仕方がないと思いますが、木目のビニールシート巻きなのでそれなりです。 小型スピーカーで、この資質を持つ製品を他に知らないので、比較出来ないのですが、 新しい扉を開いてしまったということです。とても気に入りました。 POLK（XT15とES10）もB&W（603）もDALI（レクトール2、センソール1）もYAMAHA（古くて型番忘れてしまった）も好きなのですが、DALIのような重たい低能率のまったりした感じとは真逆のスピーカーで、好みが分かれるというのは分かる気がします。 小型のアンプでも鳴らしやすいと思うので、汎用性を考えるとコスパは良いと思います。 BGM的にまったり楽しむにはちょっと疲れるかもしれませんが、ノリノリで音楽を聴きたい気分の時は、超良いと思います。スピード感が癖になります。 どんなジャンルでも万能に鳴らすのは手持ちの中では、YAMAHAとB&Wだと思いますが、POLKのコスパは意味が分からないくらい良いですし（オーディオ沼入門用に絶対的にお勧め）、 DALIのまったり感も良いですし、YAMAHAの素直な素朴な音も好きなので、 このクリプシュ君は、知らなかった扉を開いてくれたので、★5です。 ギターのザクザク感とか、鳥肌物です。 ただ、万人に勧められるかというと、有識者の皆様のおっしゃる通り、はまれば凄く良いスピーカーということになるでしょうか。 イメージだけでも伝われば良いのですが、皆さん、良い音楽ライフを！ ※私は割と原音再生とかはどうでも良いタイプです。自分が聴いて楽しければハッピーなタイプなので、 真剣に音と向き合いたいタイプの方は違うスピーカーをお勧めします。 2026/2/8追記 ベルデン8470のケーブル3mでも聞いてみました。 高音の伸びがちょっとなくなって、低音が更に出るようになりました。 リスニングのバランスは8470のほうが良いと思います。 ただ、ゾクゾクするような中音と高音の特徴が薄くなるので、サブウーファーで低音を補える方は8460の2mをお勧めします。 ほんの少しの太さの違いなんですが、電気信号の抵抗というのはバカにならない物ですね・・・。 Windowsパソコンで標準ドライバーで聞いているのですが、8460の時はパソコンの音量を90にして、AVアンプ側のボリュームを絞り目にしたほうがゾクゾクした音が出ます。 8470の時は、パソコンのボリュームを70くらいにして、AVアンプのボリュームを上げていったほうが、下が出てきて、バランスが良くなります。 アンプ側の歪みなどの具合にも左右されると思いますが、 基本はソース側のボリュームを最大か9割程度にして、アンプ側（プリでも良い）で音量調節するのが基本なのは、 皆さんご存じだと思いますが、スピーカーケーブルで結構SNの良いところってあると思いますので、 高感度スピーカーって反応が良くて面白いですね。 ほとんどのメーカーが低能率ばかり作っている理由が分かりました。 基本フラットに近く、セッティングに左右されづらいスピーカーになりやすいからということを実感しました。 家庭用で色々な方が使うと思ったら、低能率のほうが都合が良いんですね。 沼にはまった人たちが、高能率が良いと言っているのは、セッティングを変えて良いところをきちっと探していたからなんですね。 頭で理解はしていたつもりが、実感出来ました。そうなるとPolkの4オームスピーカーの低能率でもなく、高能率でもない絶妙のラインのコスパが異常に良いと感じるのも理解出来ました。セッティングしやすいのに、良く鳴るものなぁ。Polk。 私はサブウーファーもあるので、私は8460で使おうと思いますが、8470のバランスの良さも捨てがたい。 密閉型のサブウーファーが欲しくなってきました。 バスレフだと量は出るけど、スピードに若干ついて来れないんですよね・・・。位相も弄ってみたけど、置き場所も考えないといけないかもですね。 小型スピーカー買ったのに、サブウーファーもバスレフじゃなくて密閉型が欲しくなるとは、完全に沼った。 下まで出すなら絶対２５ｃｍ以上必要（出来れば30cm）だから、これより遙かに高い買い物じゃないか・・・。 もしや、初めからトールボーイ型買うべきだったかとも思いますが、 小口径のこのスピード感は軽量な小型しかないんだろうなぁ。どっちも味わいたいなら、やっぱり密閉型のサブウーファーも持っていた方が楽しそう。 とりとめがなくなってしまいましたが、1セット目には勧めませんが、2セット目以降の購入で色々試して遊びたい方には、超お勧めです。新しい扉開けると思います。

Suono equilibrato accoppiato con amplificatore e preamplificatore marchio Fosi bilanciato ...la grande rilevazione di questo suono che oltre a non lasciare nulla a caso ...a livello di audio si percepisce immediatamente la qualità del suono e della qualità costruttiva ..ne sono al 100 per 100 soddisfatto ... Consiglio il mio venditore per l acquisto e stato tempestivo nel rispondermi e nell' aiutarmi ad ottenere assistenza che non lo legano direttamente ma per la spedizione che arrivata in tempo poi si e fermata per motivi non di sua natura collegati , ha chiamato e risolto il giorno dopo è arrivato il prodotto ... Bought these as I live in flats,wanted small but quality sound, these are so far even better than anticipated crystal clear when volume down but just as good when turned up can really handle it, some people say bass not good but I was pleasantly surprised not overwhelming like some speakers but it is there when you need it, also they look top notch with covers off,haven't found any faults with these speakers yet maybe a bit pricey but they are worth it had denon speakers before which were good for years but these are are more than a step up.definitly recommended by me if you have smaller room or live in Flats
