I would've liked a bit more interaction between Maggie and Iain whilst she was in hospital but overall this is a 4.5 star read. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Engaging Read, Though Some Parts Felt Unrealistic *by T***2 on 11 January 2026* I enjoyed How to Walk Away and would give it a solid 4 stars. Katherine Center has a very engaging writing style, and the story flows smoothly from beginning to end. It’s entertaining, emotional, and easy to read, with no unnecessary fillers. That said, there were a couple of things that kept it from being a 4.5-star read for me. After such a life-threatening accident, I found the female main character a bit too relaxed emotionally. Given the severity of what she went through, I expected a deeper or more prolonged internal struggle. Toward the final chapters, the story also became a little too unrealistic for my taste. The decision for the female character to attend a wedding in another country felt odd, and the sudden appearance of her crush seemed convenient and overdone. It was a bit “too much” and pulled me out of the story. Overall, though, the novel is well written, engaging, and enjoyable.
