I have also noticed that some of the protective covers for the photo sensor have just fallen out, but don't effect function for now.Great nightlight that is bright enough for a hallway or stairway. I wouldn't use it in my room, since it is pretty bright. It doesn't have a huge range for the brightness between all on and off, but it does dim as the light gets brighter in the room until fully off. It does allow for something else to be plugged into the other outlet, but not with a lot of wiggle room. Tried several different receptacles and yes I realize that these work only when there is no ambient light.
