Did take some time to install but mainly because I wanted it perfect. Was on the pricey side but will definitely last from the looks of it. The mount comes with 4 lag bolts to screw into studs which makes it very sturdy. I could not use all 4 lag bolts because I had a single stud in the middle of the wall. I could only use two lag bolts but that was an allowed configuration in the instructions. The mount can hold up to a 90”, 115 lb TV and has hydraulic piston to maintain the position of the TV. I like the possibility of upgrading to a bigger, heavier TV without needing to get a new mount. I thought the installation was easy and the instructions were clear. Definitely read the instructions, take measurements and find your studs before you start drilling into studs. The arm is kinda heavy, but that’s understandable since you need steel to hold +100 lb TV. Once we hung the TV on the arm, it was pretty easy to secure and adjust the hydraulic piston assistance. The height being one of the primary issues since we’re used to a lower viewing height. This product solved the problem very nicely. It’s sturdy, a bit tricky to install but works well once it’s in place. Our only complaint would be how far the tv sits off the wall when retracted. It’s a good 6” and all the black hardware is visible from the sides. I have a wood stud right in the middle where the main mechanism needs to mount so recessing the unit is not an option. The only solution is to design and build a frame around the tv that hides the unit but we’ll see how it goes. Similarly, when the tv comes down it really does come out quite a bit. In our case almost 16 to 18 inches. We have to keep the sofa back further than we intended. Something to consider depending on your room setup. All in all though I’m pleased with the product. I hope they keep refining the product to be even more minimal in the future.
