But let me tell you this before you buy one. I have had 2 of these knifes the 1st one the thumb stud broke off the first week. The company would NOT replace it and I was dumb enough to buy a 2nd thinking the first was a fluke. It wasn't. The stud came off the 2nd one in just a few months. Fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me. Well its shame on me. Good luck. **Q: Is this a "spring assist" to open?** A: This is a "push button to open" knife.. and I believe California legal as it's blade is under 2" inches. "Spring Assisted", means you push the blade to engage the spring assist, and then it opens and locks in place. This knife is not a toy.. it is well made, and can last a long time if used correctly. The lock to keep it closed is only meant to move about 1/4" inch in either direction.. it can be broken if forced. **Q: Can you remove the clip? Is a key/ tool included to remove the clip?
