I bought it since it was highest rated power supply on desertcart.com with the requirements I was looking for. I wanted a genuine 12V 5A Positive tip power supply that could provide up to 1A each to up to 5 items simultaneously. I'm using this with a Pig Hog 10 Spot power splitter to power four semimodular synthesizers at the same time. I needed this power supply to have enough current to do the job, without introducing noise into any of the circuits, since I am cross patching audio and control voltage across several synths in my musical endeavors. I'm currently using this to power the following at the same time: Arturia MicroBrute, Moog Mother 32, Behringer Model D, and Behringer Neutron. This power supply had to have the advertised current rating, since I wanted the power supply to be well beyond the current specs for what I am powering. I did not want to overwork the power supply by shortchanging the current draw. I have been using this Chanzon Power Supply for over 2 months now, with no issues whatsoever so far. I was very careful testing with each and every synth before relying on this full time. I have had no issues with noise. The power supply gets warm, without becoming hot. I have left it on for days at a time without issue. I have this plugged into a Furman power conditioner that I switch on to power all my current synths simultaneously. This has enabled me to replace 4 DC wall wart power supplies that took up a lot of space. I am grateful the positive reviews on this power supply have been genuine, since my setup is quite expensive and quite a labor of love. I want to leave this review to help any others that endeavor to simplify their power to their semimodular synthesizers. Before you attempt to do this, be informed about your power requirements, voltage, and tip polarity. Getting any of that wrong can destroy your precious gear. I've had good luck with Chanzon in the past, and I'm pleased to say this charger lives up to my expectations. The UL listing gives me extra peace of mind, knowing that these have been tested for electrical safety. The power supply feels nice and heavy, and the insides don't sound hollow when you knock on it (unlike countless other cheap, sketchy power supplies out there). That let me know they're putting way more than the bare-minimum components into this thing. I've exclusively used this adapter on battery chargers, and frequently push it close to its maximum current rating. I don't use it long enough to know how it performs long-term, but it doesn't get too hot after about 1 hour of use. Like most other ungrounded power supplies, this one has a tiny bit of leakage current due to the interference-suppressing capacitors, so you'll feel a slight buzz when you touch the negative terminal (or any metal surfaces on devices it powers). I checked with my multimeter and it seems to be around the same, maybe a little higher, than other power supplies I had, but still far from being dangerous. One thing I noticed was that this power supply takes a veeeerrrrry long time to discharge--so don't be surprised if your device stays powered for a few seconds after you unplug it! Totally normal, it just means they're using big smoothing capacitors, which is nice. The power supply failed on one and I replaced it with one I had in my junk box. The Second unit started having issues and I swapped the power supply and my issue was corrected - but that power supply was hot. So I ordered two of these and replaced both power supplies - after 8 days, both TiVo's are doing fine and the power supply bricks on these are nice & cool. I'm betting the 5 amp rating vs. the 2 amp original is a big help. The adapter plug is a not quite as tight a fit as the original, but it fits/works.
