Many so-called "hunters" believe they have to spend a grand and use bows set at 90 lbs. in order to feel secure among their friends. However, if you're simply considering it for hunting white-tail deer and not merely for creating a false image, it's perfect. To kill a deer, all you need is a bow set at least about 45 lbs. of draw. I've used this bow set at 60 lbs. and find it perfect for hunting purposes. It looks great, it's affordable, and with a little tweaking (upgrading a few components on it) it gets the job done. **Q: Is this a left or right handed bow? no option available to pick!** A: To my knowledge it is only available for right hand. Believe me I agonized over buying this. I read all the reviews, here and elsewhere. I hemmed and hawed over buying it. I wanted a bow I wasn't going to be sick of in 3 weeks. I looked at PSE, Red Head, Stringer and a few others. Finally I pulled the trigger on this deal. After all I wanted to be able to take my daughter shooting, which she loves, and do more than stand there.Let me be odd and start with the cons I noticed.Cons:If you know nothing about assembling a bow, good luck. Directions are non existent.If you have the #70 draw weight like mine, forget shooting with your fingers. Unless you don't like your fingers. (Then go ahead)No stabilizer, peep sight, D-Loop or arrows come with this.Pros:Cost me about $90 to get: D-Loop, Peep sight (installed), Arrows, Tips and a caliper release. (Arrows alone were $35 and caliper was another $35 so right there was $70.)Lightweight bow. Not hard to hold and fire.Sight is decent, not top of the line but a good sight for a beginner who is target shooting.The arrow rest is nice. A bit odd as the odd colored Feather goes down instead of away from the bow as usual. But once you're used to it, it is easy. Haven't had one fall out yet.Arrows zips to target. At 310 FPS it is quick. I have seen bows that cost $200 more that only go 328 FPS in my search so to me at 20 yards 18 FPS isn't that big a deal.Let's talk about the big issue, COST. The cheapest bow in my area at a store was close to $370 for an adult size bow. So even with the $90 and the $17 for the stabilizer I STILL came out less than $370 but about $50 bucks which is another set of 12 arrows.BTW for those wondering, with a #70 draw weight I am shooting "Blackout X5" in the 340 weight. (From BPS) Seems like a good match.November 7, 2013 - UPDATESo been shooting this bow for a while now. A few things to note.1. The arrow rest that comes with this bow is okay. It's not great. I keeps the arrows in but can do a number of fletches. Doens't seem to tear mine but leaves some black marks on them. I'll be replacing the rest soon.2. Sight - The sight is fine. I'm just adding a few pins for farther distances. This comes with three pins, which I have set for 20/30 and 40 yards. Makes dropping an arrow in from 80 yards can be a challenge.Overall I still like this bow. Shooting pretty tight groups with it at 20 yards. ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars Poor instructions *by F***N on Reviewed in the United States on March 24, 2013* So far this bow looks like it will be a good product. It is sturdy and appears to be well built. However, the instructions that were provided are very poor and being a new bow user, it took us a while to figure out how to put it together. The instructions for the string mount and sight were non-existent - only 1 picture of a completed bow to reference to figure it out. NOW We have to tackle the adjustments so I can use it (the draw is currently set too high). It says it comes with everything to get started but does not include arrows, so make sure you order some. I would definitely recommend it but there are some cons to. The rest is awful. You will need to get a new one so your arows don't get damaged. The finish is pretty but chips essay.
