This uses a power supply of 12v-24 and will operate faster with a 24v supply. It will extend or retract 0.315 in/s (8mm/s) at 12v and 0.670 in/s (17mm/s) at 24v. The maximum load (push or pull) is 330 lbs (1500N). This unit has built-in limits switches to cut power automatically at the end of travel. This can be used in harsh environments as it is IP54 rated (weather resistant). This actuator has a position feedback mechanism based on pulses from a hall effect switch. When read by a microcontroller, each pulse represents 0.007046 inches (0.17896mm) or travel. Use of this sensor is completely optional and can be left disconnected. The mounting brackets and pin are included. The wire leads are 3 feet long (1 meter) and have exposed, tinned ends. When positive supply voltage is connect to the Red and Black leads, the actuator will extend. To use the hall position sensor, connect Green to ground, White to supply (5v), and Yellow to a 10k pull-up resistor. We've been doing lab testing with this actuator now for a two months and it's performed amazingly. I know that's not a super long time, but we've put it through some hard living. It's been in/out as much as 100 times a day, dropped(more than a few times), accidentally blocked from moving, covered in grease and oil, and various other mistreatments. It still works flawlessly. The only complaint I have is the packaging. It arrived in a plastic bag with not a shred of padding. I don't know if that's on desertcart or the manufacturer, but it was pretty badly beat up when I received it. I would have likely returned it if I wasn't in an urgent need for it and if I wasn't about to ding it up myself. I have used a few mean well power supplies and they have been reliable so far. Meanwell NES-150-24 150W 24V. If it needs to be in a different package, or will be running other things (higher current rating) just search mean well 24v. **Q: How long the 12" acuator when it is all extended?** A: 725 mm center to center. Tried to very the speed of the actuator, using pulse with modulation (PWM), that worked OK, but the position feed back, from the actuator, drifted when ever I drove the motor with PWM. If I drove the motor with a steady voltage, the position pulses did better, but still would drift depending on how often the motor would change directions. I used these outside, and yes I know they were not rated for wet areas. After about a year, some internals of one of the motors got corroded, and I took it apart, to see how it was constructed.
