Grain Spawn to Substrate Ratio Once colonized, we recommended 1 lb of grain spawn for every 5 lbs of manure or hardwood sterile substrate. (Higher inoculation rates may improve your success.) Grain Bag Inoculation To inoculate the grain bag, simply inject your spore or culture syringe through the port in a sterile location.
