Review: Yes this stuff really works. - So frequently claims are thrown around usually with some sort of marketing science thrown in to make these claims believable. i bought this to help me try and repair an old Nikon 50 mm F1.2 lens. This lens optically was in great condition but had a tight focus ring that had to be disassembled for repair. I bought this because most of the screws were corroded and or somewhat stripped. I tried a small JIS screwdriver and right away concluded I can't disassemble this lens without stripping all the screws they were stuck. I did some research and landed on this product. I opened the bottle and dipped only the tip of the driver in the screw grab and used the screwdriver like you would remove any normal small screw. The first thing you notice is an increase in grip between the screw and the driver. The screw grab works like the name implies the driver grabs the screw and resists stripping the screw out. It helps with screws that are somewhat stripped as well. The liquid is thick almost a liquid paste, has a gritty graphite color and texture. It has a film type quality, not quite oily but you want to be careful and try not to spill it or get it on your clothes. I didn't want to try and find out if it will stain or not. In short, buy it. It works especially well on small electronics screws that always seem to strip and wear out. Works great on my rc helicopters too!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: For those that have used both, does this work any better than using lapping compound for that extra grip?**
A: It's essentially the same trick, but ScrewGrab has larger metal particles suspended in the base, which could work better than lapping compound in some circumstances.  If one works, the other one probably will, and vice versa.  :-{)}

**Q: This product does not work what am i doing wrong?**
A: Okay.  So, you are getting the full gel out of the tip.  Then it could simply be that you have already stripped it to the point that there is nothing left for ScrewGrab to grab ahold of.  It uses a mechanical, friction action to allow you to get a better grip on the screwhead for removal.  The only other factor that does get into play on the smaller screws, is you still need to use the right size driver tip.  Unlike the larger heads where the wrong size driver tip can still work in many situations.

**Q: Will this work on a tiny laptop torx (t-4??) screw? The path to one of the screws is very narrow so my choices of tools is limited.**
A: It might, but don't get your hopes up.  Screwgrab works fine, but you have to have something to brace against.  A wallowed out Philips screw socket may or may not respond to the stuff.One trick you might try with the tiny torx bit is to examine it carefully to see if it's in any way rounded at the tip.  If it is, touch it to the side of a grinding wheel very carefully to restore the sharp edge at the tip.  That should help.

**Q: does this work on stripped or damaged screw heads on laptops?**
A: Yes - works well on all stripped fastener heads

This stuff really works. I first used it when I needed to open my old laptop. The screws were on really tight, and I was thinking there was no other way than to get some screw strippers.
