I looked and looked for a quality wool blanket that IS WASHABLE!!! We have kids , grandkids and dogs and need it We have enjoyed it so much I have already ordered another one in a different color Beautiful, warm and comfortable EE

We have a queen bed but a queen winter quilt would not fit in my washer; and I wanted to avoid commercial laundries. I tried a full size quilt but it was too small to keep us warm on cold nights. Because this Pendleton blanket is made of 100% natural wool and most importantly is machine washable AND dryable AND the queen size DOES fit in my washer, I wanted to try it, despite the price. It washed well, gentle, cold; and I used fabric softener for the final extra rinse. It dried very well as follows: 20 min delicate, 20 min air fluff, 20 min delicate again and 20 min air fluff again. It was still slightly damp so I air dried it on two big hangers till fully dry. Note: When wet in the washer it had a strong, fairly unpleasant odor THAT COMPLETELY DISAPPEARED WHEN DRY. It did NOT shrink in the dryer. It is not too heavy to physically handle. It is not super soft after one wash and dry; but is not terribly coarse either. Best of all, it fits our bed well and keeps us warm and very comfortable during cold winter nights. I'm very glad to have this. It is the first wool blanket I have ever bought; and I only bought it because it could be machine washed AND dried. I also like that it is made in USA.

Pendleton makes great blankets. This is my second one, and I love them both. They look great, they feel great. Highly recommend!!

I have to say I do like this blanket a lot. It is lighter than I expected but still warm though it is not as soft as some wool blankets but this can be helped by washing it for the first time. I do recommend washing it is a laundry bag, because it will shed a bunch on the first wash and dry but this does soften up the blanket some. I could see how this blanket would not be the best for someone with sensitive skin. But other than that, it's a great machine washable wool blanket. With this and a good cotton sheet you will be just fine on cold nights and you don't sweat like you do under synthetic blankets.

I almost returned this blanket due to the stiff, scratchy texture. Washed on delicate cold and dried on air dry with wool dryer balls three times with very little shrinkage (stiffness was gone but honestly still quite rough to the touch). Since I mainly purchased to lay at the foot of the bed and loved the variation of colors and pattern (red jasper), I decided to keep it. Needless to say, it has become my favorite winter nap blanket. Once covered, I don’t notice the hand felt scratchy texture at all, just a cozy warm yet breathable layer over me. My bedding, including blankets are all linen but this wool blanket has become a welcome addition. I also ordered an ivory one at the same time (black Friday sale) but the color leaned too yellow for my decor, so it will go back. Update: Loving it so much I just purchased another one in Misty Ridge. Reading through other reviews, this time I cold washed delicate with a tablespoon or two of conditioner, extra rinse, and several air dry cycles with dryer balls. Came out softer than my first one. Both colors are gorgeous. Red Jasper would work with traditional or mid-century decor, leans cabin/lodge cozy. Misty has more of a cottage traditional vibe. Absolutely love both!

This is a marvellous blanket. Who raves about a blanket? Me. It's lightweight, but warm and not scratchy at all, unlike some wool blankets. I find it a good choice for about 6 months a year. The colors are lovely. I always put away woolens that have been cleaned. It can be machine washed, but I found the queen size too big for our washer. It cost $40 to have our cleaners launder it, but it was worth it. Make sure it's line dried, or it will shrink. It's a little pricey, or so I thought, but the quality is excellent.

What a great product. You can see and feel the quality of this blanket as soon as you open the package. Amazing comfort and warmth for a blanket that is not really all that heavy. I wish I had gotten one years ago. In the winter I normally layer a couple of blankets but no need for that with this Pendleton. A lot of people will be turned off by the price but a great blanket that you spend 8 hours a day with is worth every penny. This is a blanket that will stay in your family for generations with proper care. Treat yourself to something special.
