I took the cover off, filed the opening to a size that would allow the C-Plug to go all the way into the receptacle. Now the unit works on both my PC and laptop. And I've made sure the connection was good by reading the SD, QXD, and CF Express B cards. Also wrote to and formatted a couple. No problems encountered. I've updated my rating to 5 stars. OLD: The C plug will plug into my laptop without a problem. But it will NOT work on my PC. It's about a MM to shallow to go all the way into the C receptacle on my HP computer. The only reason I'm not returning it is because it does plug into my laptop without a problem. I'll either have to get a USB to C card for the PC or some type of USB to C adapter. I then used the Apple App FILES to open files and I could see the CF Card Reader - the card was a SanDisk Extreme Pro 128GB. I could also see a list of pictures - both RAW and JPEG - the photos were from a Canon R5. I opened a JPEG file with no issues, came right up. Of course the RAW image was not read since I have not installed any Canon RAW viewer. The FILES Apple app gives you the ability to look at the images by Icon, List or Column and to sort by Name, Date, Size, Kind and Tags. I found that the application was very snappy reading off the CF Express Card. **Q: Will this support uhs-ii at the higher speeds? (not just backward compatibility?)** A: Thank you for your inquiry.
