This shoe and another one that I got had the heal as pictured. I have found that this shoe and another one that I bought from Dansko with this heal has caused me to fall twice. I NEVER fall. So I was disturbed. One time in court the other time on the side walk. I did not hurt myself, but I am buying better shoes because I am observing that a fall or injury can create problems and I am buying better shoes so as to protect myself. This shoe has a heel that likely caused a fall for me and the other shoe did the same thing. I'm going to keep the shoe and see if there is someway to change my walking gait that will avoid the slip ups. I won't buy another Dansko show with this type of heel. I have been a Dansko fan for about 10 of those years. To me they really can't be beat. I have switched between Born's which I love and you can find at a good price and Danskos which you invest in and they are worth it!. This is a beautiful shoe and is very dressy but it will squish your toes after wearing them about an hour and I don't have wide feet at all just average size feet. If you have narrow feet Naot's are great as well just FYI. We know our shoes after being on our feet walking for 14 plus hours all day! My airline doesn't allow a flat service shoe it can be min 1" but back to the shoe at hand....it is beautiful and if you have narrow feet it will be fine but if not and you plan on being on your feet for any time at all in this shoe, I would opt against it and go for something else. These shoes fit the bill with the look; I just wish the fit was better. In a nutshell - the toe box is not wide enough and my toes get pinched (more on the right foot than left foot). The heel slippage was so bad that I had to put heel grips in the back of the shoes to keep from kicking them off when I walked. Going up another size in hope the toe box will be bigger would likely compound the heel issue. I have a wide foot, so the heel being to big was surprising. I have worn Dansko clogs in the past and was expecting the shoes would be just as comfortable. I thought these shoes would become more comfortable as I broke them in, yet nay.
