## Questions & Answers

**Q: Has anyone noticed this pedal hisses in any setting..? just tried mine out and i have to say im a bit shocked at the noise. settings all at 12 oclock**
A: Yes, I experienced the same. Very noisy. Returned it.

**Q: Is this an 18 volt pedal ?**
A: No, the pedal requires a regulated 9 volt power source, e.g., a Voodoo. Documentation says that the supplied voltage is elevated internally, but you must power it with a regulated 9 volt source.

**Q: Can you use this with synths like moog?**
A: I have the La Grange pedal, not the fuzz. But I don't see why you couldn't use it with a keyboard

**Q: What are the dimensions of the pedal itself? It seems like Amazon's measurements are of the box it comes in.**
A: 5 1/4 " x 3 3/4 "

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing Boutique Sound but, . . .
*by A***N on February 8, 2018*

OK - I wanted to follow up on my previous review below. (Yes, I love this pedal that much)I contacted the customer support found on their website, to ask what the ohm rating is with the EXP input-jack. I was given another support # to call, left a message and was quickly contacted by a customer support person. He did not know the answer but, followed up and sent me the information via email. [ The max-ohm is 50k in a buffered circuit) However, they felt it works best with 25K. ] I purchased the Ernie Ball 6181 VPJR, and it works pretty good. - For this reason and the great customer service, I've added the 5th star. Now I have the pedal dialed in to my rig and all i have to say is WOW !========================================================1) This pedal is by far the BEST sounding overdrive pedal I've ever used. I've owned and played everything imaginable in my 40+ yrs in the Hard Rock and Metal genres. It reproduces a true Marshall plexi sound direct to your studio mixer (AC/DC, Van Halen, Metallica, and everything in between) but, sounds unbelievably AMAZING when used through an EL34 equipped tube amp w/Celestion G12 vintage 30's. - Even if you use a decent tube amp lacking in high gain, this pedal can give you that boutique, high-gain sound you're looking for.2) The features advertised are spot-on with detail and are true to the sound making effects they claim.3) The only CON I have (the reason for only 4 stars) is that, I'm looking to use the volume/EXP input for controlling the gain. However, Bogner only recommends the Ernie Ball 25k-ohm volume pedal. (I'd like to get a smaller size pedal for my pedalboard) - I feel that they should list an impedance rating/limit for the EXP input. Their specs are lacking the information I need to purchase an expression pedal that could potentially be within the pedal's capabilities. Not all expression pedals are equal. some use POTs that are 10k, 100k, 50k. Also, I have no idea if the input is TS, TRS, or TSR.

### ⭐⭐⭐ On the Fence
*by D***1 on February 12, 2018*

I'm a little bummed out by this box. There is no question about the build quality, it's probably the best built stomp box I've owned in 25 years. And the "Boost" function is 100% usable / does exactly what you would expect. The actual sounds I can get out of it, although plentiful, aren't amazing at all. I have tried this with two amps so far.1. 2000 Fender Twin Reverb (clean, albeit noisey amp).2. 2002 Carlsbro Fatboy (Very dirty, lower wattage class A amp). With the Twin Reverb, I think the pedal sounds clinical. The variety of overdrive / disto you can achieve is great. But what it doesn't do is a real loose sounding overdrive. It's a tight, controlled, clinical deal. That may be great for some, but it's not my thing. I'd rather use 2 or 3 other pedals I own. With the Fatboy I really like what the mild-OD settings can do. The natural break-up + the mild-OD gives a nice in-between loose feel. But here is the thing: The Fatboy doesn't need that. Just give it more gain knob and use the guitar volume. BUT... the Boost function is super nice with the Fatboy. Getting from the natural chunky amp rhythm sound to a solo sound... this is it.As you can tell I'm on the fence. I want to like it, but I don't think it's made for me. I do think it is best served paired with an amp that mildly breaks up at live concert levels. ??

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ One of the best Plexi clones! Highly recommended.
*by A***L on November 27, 2023*

If you don't own a Marshall Tube amp, then this is definitely a great choice.Pros:- Excellent build quality- The ability to manage the gain structure (low, medium or high)- The ability to use a boost in conjunction with the Distortion- Great sound quality even at low bedroom volumes- Portable enough to be moved in a gig bagCons:- PricyIt may take some time to fiddle around with the knobs on the pedal, but it will be totally worth it. No Noise issues noted during operation at all. It is pricy, but I think the tonal quality sets it apart from other clones in the market. If you can't take your Tube amp head to a gig, then this is a much better alternative without compromising on the tone. Cheers!
