This ball is as basic as it comes. If you're familiar with bowling balls than know there is no hook to this, making it a spare ball. I got this for my 5 year old as his first ball. Great price, and a nice solid black color. I will be ordering another when my younger boy turns 5. It makes for an excellent starter ball. Please keep in mind you have to have the ball drilled at your local pro-shop or bowling alley. This is standard for bowling balls but it you are not familiar you may be surprised when your ball arrives with no finger holes.

This is an amazing spare ball for heavy oil lanes like the ones I play at. It is weighted just enough to throw the way I would my strike ball, but not hook (just how I want it to) to pick up those hard outside pins. It's note prown to scratches on rougher lanes and very happy with the product!

The colors were not as dark as I expected when I first got the ball. Then I realized how bright the light was. Under normal lights and on the lane it looks just as I expected. I'm using this as my spare ball for now, but it doesn't have the same reaction as my 1990s version of a urethane ball. It is was it is and great for what I needed it for. The price was right as well. I'll come back after league season and say if I'd buy it again.

Gosh. Really wanted to love this ball. Or rather, just like it. But neither was the case. I used it for about 6 months as my spare ball and it never felt right. Dunno if it's the material of the ball, or the way the core is centered in the ball, but I was never able to get consistent control. My spare game dropped after using this ball as it behaved so inconsistently. It would hook one shot and shoot straight as a bullet the next. I never felt I had control of the ball. I do have difficulty throwing straight (I'm a two-finger bowler; no thumb) but damn if this thing just had a mind of its own. It certainly is a cool looking ball, so if you're after looks it's well worth it. But after months of frustration I donated the Belmo to my local bowling alley. Definitely wasn't the ball for me.

Bought this to use as a new spare-ball. My old one was polyester, and had begun to crack around the holes. This one is urethane and should hopefully last longer. And - it has a little hook for when I want to impart that to it on select spare-throws. In short - it is exactly what I expected, and I love it. (Your mileage may vary depending on your style, goals, and drilling).
