Melnor Mechanical Water Timer: Up to 2 Hour Runtime, Automatic Shut-Off

Works so good, I should have got one years ago!

MUCH better than the cheaper alternative. Initially, we bought a cheaper (different brand) timer. Bad idea - half of the cheap timers failed and a LOT of water was wasted. We have had NO problems with the Melnor timers and have now purchased our third one.

Well, I took a chance on another of these things, most in the price range are similar. I ended up dropping it about 1 foot, so not far, and it sounded like a cheap toy, and the dial had moved as though it was broken. But it did end up working, functioning for me fine so far. I do like the appearance of this with the yellow color, that's really why I bought it, and it is easy to use just like any other wind up timer. I am sure I'll need to get a better one some day, but if not I will be sure to leave a review on how long this lasted.

This is absolutely a must have! Simple to use ... install between faucet and hose and you can easily set the timer and walk away ... no more checking or fussing ... wish I'd have found it years ago!

I bought two of them, they worked great for about 5 months and then one of them didn’t cut off and the water ran for days before I found the pasture flooded. A week or so later the second one failed to cut off and again cost me a giant water bill. Because both of them failed in less than 6 months and a week apart tells me they’re disposable, not worth a nickel to me. Buyer beware because you’re evidentially going to have a very large water bill because they don’t cut off

The functionality is good. Too much of it is plastic for me, but it is high grade strong stuff. It did break within a few months, but I contacted them via the warranty form on the website and they sent me a replacement right away.

Great product. Will take this one in when weather turns for next year.

For me, they are indispensable. They save money, simply buy the use of the timer. I can do other chores and not leave water running needlessly I have six of them. You will not be disappointed if you purchase them.

Funcion y materiales

This product works very well as expected being a Melnor product. It works for intermittent timed watering of flower gardens or grass. The price is very reasonable that anyone could afford. Maybe one day I'll get a the electronic one that could do timed and scheduled waterings. I highly recommend it.👍

Flimsy doesn't describe this thing. I didn't want an electronic timer so I opted for the cheaper mechanical one. Big mistake. This timer was leaking all the time despite using Teflon tape on the threads. When trying to tighten it to the faucet it just broke. I missed the return window so here's a piece of advice...buy something else.

These don't last many years but they are extremely handy and the price is right.
