Moultrie 30-Gallon Deer Feeder Tripod

Was shopping for a feeder to get ready for Deer Season. Found this one and finally decided to buy. This was delivered quickly. It is well built and sturdy. Is easy to use and was not difficult to put together. Would be a great purchase for anyone wanting to set up a feeding schedule for the wildlife.

This is really great to have in our backyard where we have a lot of deer traffic. This is an incredibly well built feeder that looks good, works great, and the assembly was a piece of cake. It's super easy to use. This can hold four 40lb bags of corn up to 200lbs which is awesome! The bluetooth connectivity is solid. We can connect to it from about 40ft away inside our home. Initially, I could connect to but not enter the device so I called customer support and they were able to tunnel in and perform a reset to make it work. That was great! Use this feeder exclusively for corn. Otherwise, if it's smaller than corn, it will pour right out, and if it's something like fortified cottonseed, it will jam up the delivery system. With corn, the only time corn leaks out is if it's pulled out by the deer. It would be great if there was a screen on the delivery device that allows the corn to sling out, but prevents the deer from getting their tongue in there. That's minor though. Side note - squirrels have caught on and hang out with the deer. We have had so much fun with this feeder. We aren't hunters and we are mindful of providing an unlimited food source, which could force a bit of population growth, but we only have been feeding times twice daily with 6 second spins to give these guys a snack on their way by.

Magnificent feeder. 2 seasons strong and it’s amazing. Programming with app is simple, the feed estimator is precise and the fact it takes AA batteries is a winner. It shoots corn at a great distance. One thing I recommend is to either buy a cage yo prevent deer from licking the spinner or get some chicken wire and zip ties to make your own. Since it only goes up about 6 feet the spinner is right there for deer and raccoons to get their tongues all over and gum it up. There are videos on this. Only downfall is the lid doesn’t screw on and there is no locking mechanism. The raccoons did climb up in there and had a party. I just placed a flat rock on top and it solved the situation. It’s easy to make a mechanism if you are mildly creative. But overall this is the best feeder I have ever owned.

I’ve been using this feeder for about 2 years now, mainly for seasonal deer feeding. Installation was straightforward, and when it’s operating correctly, it performs very well and is reliable for scheduled feeding. That said, I did run into occasional issues where the timer would stop triggering the feed cycle even though the battery and feed levels were fine. I wasn’t able to pinpoint the exact cause, but replacing the battery seemed to resolve the issue each time it happened. One other thing I noticed is that the feed doesn’t always disperse as far as I expected. Because of that, mature deer seemed a bit cautious and didn’t consistently approach it right away. Overall, it works as intended most of the time and is easy to set up and maintain, but there are a couple of quirks that are worth being aware of if you’re planning to use it regularly.

This is the best feeder for the money,I have ever used! Wi Fi connection is a snap. The container is water tight and it can be programmed on your tablet or phone and self contained controller in the unit itself if neither is available. It can be customized by the day or hours including length of corn dump (amount). Have been using it for a month already. I did affix a rubber skirt around the impeller to keep the pile more concentrated under the feeder rather than flinging the corn in a 10 foot circle. Super happy with purchase! Highly Recommended!

My husband loves this feeder. We have other brands that do the job but aren’t as good as this one. The lid actually screws on this one the others we have it doesn’t. It’s not as tall which is awesome for refilling and it doesn’t throw the corn a half mile away from feeder into weeds. Holds 4 bags of corn we buy with easy very sturdy didn’t wobble one time. Very easy to use and refill and set up. Takes regular batteries and has place to clip and connect cameras. Thick plastic and made good! Solid black and so far no squirrels have messed with the actual feeder but I’m sure they are at the buffet on the ground (

We went on a trip and needed a trustworthy way to feed our dog. I had purchased an automatic dog feeder in the past but found that if the dog knocked into it or a cat decided to jump on it, the weight would reset and the feeder would no longer go off. We invested in this product and are so happy we did. I ended up buying puppy chow because the bits were smaller than the dog food our pupper normally ate. It worked wonderfully. We did fashion a “surround” for it using zip ties and screen so the food wouldn’t go flying far (that would just be mean!). I’m sure our dog would’ve been up to the challenge of finding all the pieces, but we had it fall just below the unit in a relatively nice pile. The unit was very easy to assemble, had no missing parts, and it looks good even right next to the house. The feeder is a great size and you can adjust the height of the legs as desired. It is very windy where we live and the unit didn’t tip over. It operates off of AA batteries and is extremely easy to program. There is also a “key” or “legend”, if you will, on the lid to the battery/setting compartment so you do not have to hold onto any instructions or look up how much food is dispensed in “X” number of seconds. I highly recommend either for use as a deer feeder or dog food feeder. :)

Motor worked for 2 days and now the motor won't turn unless i help it get started tried new batteries and still have the same problem

Works well, batteries last all winter and it holds a lot of corn. It’s a good deal here on Amazon compared to sporting goods stores. The only downside is that you need to buy the guard or else the animals eat right from the spreader and their saliva can freeze the unit up. Raccoons are able to reach the spreader and eat from the unit too so the guard protects from that.

For a cheap feeder it is well designed. Timed feeders can be problematic in the extreme cold and I'm sure this one will be too. Will probably buy or build a gravity feed tube for it.
