Review: An Excellent Product For The Money - This bread slicer was easy to use, and easy to clean. It made even slices (something my much more expensive wood slicer did not do). Problems: I read the reviews which stated that it slides around on the counter so I placed it on a silicone hot pad. Problem solved. I also discovered that it's a tiny bit too small for the loaves made in my bread machine so I had to squeeze the loaf slightly to slide it into the unit. But that was a minor problem. As soon as I removed the slice, it resumed its original shape. In short, I would recommend this slicer to anyone who wants an economical bread slicing guide. Review: Works quite well - The unit could be built a little sturdier. Broke before I could use it but thankfully superglue took care of that. Otherwise, does a decent job and is very easy to use.

Great slicer for the price
Was looking for a bread slicer gadget to go with my new bread machine, after some looking around, I decided upon this style of slicer because it provided multiple thicknesses and could easily be put away when not in use. I gave it a test run shortly after it arrived to today and immediately notice an issue with the design. The slicer easily slides as I sawed through the bread. Luckily I had some left over rubber stick on bumpers that work great as grippy feet. Once on, I was able to slice through the bread with gadget no sliding around. Overall, I'm happy with this purchase. Its a good slicer for the price.

+It's OK, not great.
The good part about this slicer is that it hasn't broken and I haven't found any bits of plastic in our food. Another plus is that it really didn't cost much. I've had this bread slicing guide for a couple weeks now and have had a few issues. First of all I'm using bread made in a Zojirushi Virtuoso bread machine. The loaves just barely fit width wise. You have to be sure to really push the loaf up to the slicing guide and sometimes parts of the sides get scraped off. The slicing guides are not what we would like to have for our bread with no way to adjust. The thinnest is a bit too thin, the next size a bit too thick. Never tried the thickest but it might be OK for "Texas Toast". Sorry, I feel a bit like Goldilocks here. The whole slicer is very slippery on the counter and other reviewers mentioned this. I solved this problem by placing the slicer on a silicone hot pad which made it stay in place. The second problem is that there isn't much space between the slicer and the counter. If you tip the knife down at all when you're at the bottom of the loaf, you could nick your counter. To be safe I now place the slicer on a cutting board - still using the silicone pad under the slicer. There is no way to contain the crumbs so now there are crumbs on the slicer, cutting board, silicone mat and the counter. The last thing is that the top of the knife guide tips in so you have to pull it open to get the knife in. The last thing is that it doesn't come apart to clean. None of these things are deal breakers but when I look at different slicing guides they all seem to have their problems. Perhaps someone out there will invent the perfect slicing guide. Hey Zojirushi, are you listening?!?

Good concept, cheap product, donโt waste your money.
One of the braces that hold the slicer together snapped clean off when I took it out of the box. It can still be used but why the loose dangling piece? Throwing out. Going to buy a more expensive item.

Takes almost no space to store
I bought this over four years ago and it is perfect-as long as the bread you're cutting is the dimensions of a regular loaf pan. I use it to cut my bread machine loaf at least once a week and I have to cut the loaf to fit. This slicer guide takes up a tiny amount of storage space compared to all the others on the market, it makes different thicknesses, from sandwich bread thin to about an inch thick, and it is sturdy.

Pretty much junk
Yeah it's pretty much junk - with some sort of ambient usefulness. I still returned it. Item broke the moment I folded out the "foldable" tray on which you sit your loaf of bread during slicing. It is only "foldable" because this tray is attached to the rest of the mechanism via two TINY, shallow plastic pins. The very first time I folded this tray out to try the item out on my loaf of freshly baked bread, one of these plastic pins snapped and sheared off. So it was broken before I could even use it. I only didn't give it one star because - well...........it's still KIND OF useable even in its broken state (you just sit the bread on the tray so whether the tray is attached to the rest of the mechanism or not is really a little bit irrelevant).....and you CAN still use it.....a bit. And when I did - to be honest - it sliced well and functioned well, if a little bit unwieldy. I will say that if you are looking to slice a standard large pan-style loaf (think 2lb loaf out of the bread maker), you will have to squish it to fit it into this device. This fact, combined with the fact that it broke on me immediately, sufficiently triggered me to initiate a return. Meh.

Easy to use, clean, and store
Perfect for my needs, cutting single slices of 1-lb loafs from my bread machine (depending on the recipe the loafs are 4-1/2" to 5-1/2" high and about 4-1/2" wide). It's easy to use, clean and store. I put a paper plate underneath it to catch the crumbs and have no problem with the unit sliding around. I think the product is well designed and I'm very satisfied with it.
