Caution: Test fountain pens before regular use The Hobonichi Techo's Tomoe River paper is designed to prevent bleed-through, but some fountain pens and water-based ink pens are not compatible with this paper. When switching to a new pen, we recommend testing the pen somewhere in the book, such as the back memo pages, to see if the ink bleeds through or takes an especially long time to dry.

Review: Wonderful quality, Great for Writing with Fountain Pens - This is my go to planner right now, this is a plain A5 size notebook with Tomoe River paper (this paper is wonderfully light, and able to handle a LOT). For those that use fountain pens, this notebook is a no brainer. I really love the size of this notebook, the thought and design that went into this. If you like the Hobonichi brand, but have trouble with the ‘daily’ page layout, this blank notebook might be a better version if you prefer more blank space for personalization. I've used a lot of notebooks/journals/diaries and these are in a class of their own. It's the (1) paper, which is entirely unique, durable, and smear-resistant and (2) binding, which is flexible enough to fold repeatedly inside-out and retain 100% integrity. Bury me with one of these.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hobonichi does not disappoint. Thin but sturdy pages; opens on every page without hump; 3mm square

Many-many pages inside small A5 book of nice white paper with good grid marking. It is sewn in a way which allows it to be opened on every page without making a hump. You may definitely see other side if written with thick pen, but pages don't bleed even under felt markers. If one uses pencil, nothing even seen through. But that's a price for lot of pages. Overall, this Notebook feels like it likes its user to write compactly and precisely inside those small grid squares.
