This means that the water pressure and flow within these systems may fluctuate at different times of the day, such as when your neighbours are also using water. If you’ve got poor mains supply you may constantly suffer with poor water pressure and flow. A HomeBoost pump or accumulator tank will provide a solution Mains Fed: Unvented Cylinder In an unvented system hot water is stored within a pressurised cylinder. Both hot and cold water are supplied at the pressure and flow rate of the incoming mains. 330L and 450L accumulators can provide a solution when higher flow rates are required in an unvented system. Gravity Fed Salamander Pumps produce a range of products suitable for gravity-fed systems, including CT Xtra, CT Force, CT Bathroom, Right Pumps, and TapBoost (positive head only). It is important to choose the right pump for your system as incorrect selection can mean the pump will not work.

Recently redone our bathroom and fitted this on the hot and cold feed for the basin. Needles to say it worked a charm and the flow has shot up and the aerator on the tap works perfectly. You can fit this on an open vented system with no issues. For the hot water make sure your cylinder flange can handle it (I have a salamander flange fitted to my cylinder).

There is a humming noise that comes from the pump when you use the hot water tap but it is not a problem for us at all.

I've just fitted the Boost pump on the pipework immediately before an electric shower. I live in an area that has poor pressure & flow. 1 bar at the kitchen tap if we're lucky, obviously that dropped by the time the water got to the shower, through about 10 Metres of 15mm pipework. Prior to fitting the pump I was getting 2Lts per min from the shower head. (sometimes not even enough to acctuate the shower pressure switch). Now with the Booster I'm get 9Ltrs per min. Well pleased with the performance increase and no more cold showers.
