There is nothing worse than trying to charge a dying cell phone while connected to a wall or car charger and have it unplug and then lose connection while talking to that perfect person you just met. Even worse you could be in the middle of an argument so he or she thinks you hung up on them but what really happened was that your battery died and then you have to put up with a "guilt trip" that lasts hours and it's all over a silly charger. Hey you could even be that superstar sales person who closes every deal on the phone but your battery dies and then you lose the contract because the silly charger came undone and then you don't get to go to Hawaii and your boss screams at you. You may even have kids in the back seat you can't keep occupied because the tablet died so they make faces at the trucker next to you and he throws his soda at your car and then you end up in an altercation that doesn't end well for you and then you have a record. No matter what reason that you need a 10 foot Micro USB cord this one can keep you out of trouble and who knows you may not even get that "guilt trip" or a "record". You could even have the need to keep a phone next to your bed but there isn't a charger long enough to reach the nightstand, so you leave the phone on the dresser only to trip on some shoes in the middle of the night breaking a toe. Now trying to explain that to coworkers isn't fun, here is the perfect solution if your outlet has some distance. Then again you could just get an extension cord but a 10 foot Micro USB cable is way cooler for sure and you can brag to your friends about how long it is. Now this isn't a magical device that can get you dates but it may be a conversation starter that could lead to a cup of coffee in the right circumstances and that could get you a date or a phone number In all realities this cord is fantastic it has a long reach and is built well. Whether you need the cord for a computer, a cell phone or a tablet this one will work. If you need to charge a phone from a long distance, get a tablet into the back seat of a car this cable will do the trick and work well and keep you out of strange situations.

The cables are fairly thick, while remaining flexible. They give a real impression of sturdiness. I initially ordered 5, a couple for high-current device charging (1+amp) and the other three to connect Jabra enterprise-grade wireless headsets for VoIP. No problems whatsoever The only con, and it's a small one is that the device end of the cable has a fairly chunky grip around the connector. If you have a device like a cell phone or tablet with a case, the case's opening might be too small, preventing you from fully inserting the connector. Whether that's a poor design decision on the part of the case makers or the designer of this cable is up to you

I'm totally blind. I got this so I could connect my USB powered weather station to an USB power supply that I could control by voice. The cord was able to reach the power supply and the weather station. The cord is working well for this. The station doesn't pull much power. Probably 1A.

In summary, it's a "good" cable but not an exceptional cable. If you want a long cable for data transfer needs, this will do. If you're looking to use this for charging a high-amp device like a tablet or beefy phone, look elsewhere. Speed: I ran a data transfer test between my Note 2 and a computer with an SSD. I was able to achieve 15.5 MBs/sec on both this cable and the 23 AWG 5' Samsung cable that came with my phone. I did both reads and writes - once to the class 10 SD card and once to the internal memory. This cable would seem to work great for data transfer. Charging: My 2 amp max (10 watt) USB charger is able to do 9 watts over the Samsung cable, but only 3.5 watts (700ma) over this cable as measured inline using my P3 Kill-A-Watt. The specifications on Amazon do not list the gauge (thickness) of wire on this cable, so I was buying it sight-unseen in that regard. Another reviewer mentioned it was 24 AWG, but the one I received is actually only 28 AWG as per the writing on the cable: USB2.0 Shielded High Speed Cable 28AWG/1P+28AWG/2C At this length (longer than most) and wire gauge (one of the smallest) that much power is too much for it to handle. But if you are using a mobile device with a ~700ma charger, it should work fine. Dimensions: For those wondering about the bulk of the phone-side of the connector it is 3/8" wide and 5/16" high as viewed with the pins going horizontally. Definitely a larger height cable than others I've seen, so it might be a problem for those with small openings on their protective cases. It fits the Seidio CSK3SSGT2K-BK ACTIVE Case with Metal Kickstand for Samsung Galaxy Note 2 - 1 Pack - Retail Packaging - Black just fine though. Quality: So far the cable appears to be very well put together. Nothing loose or poorly made.

I run 3 HDMI screens to 1 HDMI/USB converter, which plugs into my 4 USB bus. The other three USB ports support a wired mouse, wired keyboard and logi laptop camera. Needless to say, I needed to plug this USB bus into a power source as to NOT drain my laptop. This micro USB cable to USB very neatly does the trick! Now I can use the 3M cable to stretch across two work areas and plug into a block USB charger into the wall. I spent hour+ with an Apple tech trying to get the right extension cable and this is the only one I found. Congrats to Amazon for sharing their varied inventory with had just what I needed.

Since we all have numerous devices that use the same cables I have purchased a LOT over the years, but none have compared to these. The cheaper generic ones I purchased in the past the pins became lose over time and device wouldn't connect anymore. With these StarTech cables they fit snug and have the best connectors I have ever used. I have stocked up on different sizes of these and well worth it. Pay the little extra and go with these of any size, you won't be dissatisfied! A++ cables.

I was annoyed for months having to charge my cell phone and wait to use it, and finally actually placed a short extension cord in my living room so I could use my cell phone while it was charging. With 4G smartphones being so power hungry, it became a huge nuisance, so I purchased this StarTech 10 foot mini-usb cable, and it has worked flawlessly! Just make sure you have a wall adapter that accepts the standard usb side of the cable, and you're good to go! Usually cell phones comes with one anyone, the kind where you can detach the super-short factory usb cable included, and just plug this one in, instead.

Works just fine, but I had to use a knife to cut back the thick plastic around the micro end so that I could charge my phone with its case on. Definitely a thicker plastic collar than I expected, but works just fine :) (I have not tried to transfer data through this USB cable and likely never will)

I love these cables. 10 feet gives you enough to play from the couch while charging your DualShock 4 controller. Or text while charging while reclining comfortably on anything but the floor next to the outlet. And at a decent price, too. You can't go wrong with these cables.

While the cable is connected to my phone, the slightest movement would cause it to disconnect.
