Vive Cane Tips for Ice - All Terrain Heavy Duty (2 Pack) Metal Retractable

Not much is more threatening than the thought of having to walk across ice and most of us will have snow, sleet and ice at some time during our winter months. Being ready if we have to venture out is important. I don't use a cane to walk with all the time, but I find it adds a little confidence having one on each side while trying to balance on snow and ice. These amazing hiking prongs are great for that. They slide on easily and secure tightly. You can flip them up when not needed or pop them in downward position for the ice. The fact that they offer that adjustment is a good point for these devices. These would also help in muddy or slick conditions so have multipurpose applications. They are sturdy, effective and affordable for a little added safety.

Purchased these in August to use in the winter and so far I am a believer. I installed without the rubber spacers and trimmed the length of the mounting screws. My right cane tip tends to lose grip and slide to the one o'clock position and the left cane tip tends to lose grip and slides to the eleven o'clock position, so I installed these ice grips on the outside of each cane to utilize the compressive strength of the inner portion of the "L" rather than relying on the tension of the rods as they are likely to bend out and lose grip. If I were to place them on the inside of the cane, I fear they would catch my clothing or bend out and slip when I really need them. Placed on the outside of my crutches, I do need to be mindful of my animals and wall surfaces. The ice grip holds sure even when the ice grip is packed with ice. These have been used for many hours in two days within the 2025 ice storm and so far there are no problems and they have held up nicely with no signs of wear. The ice grips are easy to flip on and off the rubber cane tip when I am going to or from slippery surfaces. I highly recommend these ice grips to the general user; however, professional ice climbers and frequent users may need something more robust. THIS IS MY OPINION ABOUT THIS ITEM AND HOW I INSTALLED THEM ON MY CRUTCHES. ALWAYS FOLLOW THE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS, STAY OFF SLIPPERY SURFACES AND THE ICE AND SNOW AND USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

It looks like it will work great I just have to wait until winter to try it out. I will definitely recommend buying it

Worked great for navigating ice while I was on crutches. Nice to be able to retract quick and easy when going between icy and non icy surfaces. The metal prongs bent after just a couple walks though. I bent them inwards and still seem to be better than no grip at all

Absolutely amazing, lifesaving, gadget! I have had my canes and walker slide on the winter ice, right out from under me. I have fallen twice! Since I put these fold away spikes on my canes, they don’t slip at all. They are easy to attach. Also, the spikes fold away to prevent damaging indoor floors or carpets. Inexpensive. People are amazed at just how well they are designed.

I had surgery on Halloween and live in Maine with lots of ice. I ordered these to be more sturdy when using my crutches on the ice. They were super easy to install and easy to flip up/down when going outside/coming back inside. After 6 weeks of using them, some of the teeth started to bend and one broke off, but I think some of that has to do with the angle I typically held my crutches. Would definitely recommend these for anyone using crutches or a cane in the winter months and may be dealing with ice. I was much more stable and comfortable knowing I had spikes under me.

I've got one of these on my cane and finally got them for my husband's. I know this brand and have other of their products, so I knew it was going to be good. Yes, it is a bit finicky to put on, but really not impossible. All you need is a Phillips screwdriver. You do need to be able to hold the two part together while you're tightening the screws, but other than that, it's not that hard if you lay the whole cane on a flat surface. If you can get someone to do it for you, it will save a little aggravation, but I've been saved from falls on the ice many times with this device. Easy to flip it up when you go inside and down when you go back out. You still need to go slowly on ice or snow, but plant this securely and you'll feel a lot more in control. Give it a try! At the end of the winter I take it off, clean it and put it in plastic bag. OR, if you have more than one cane, leave it on and designate it for winter use only and you don't have to take the thing on and off each season.

Easily fitted and adjusted and very good due to lots of wet leaves on paths where I live, I've also had other cane users enquiring where I bought them.

Arrived as planned. I was surprised as package contained not 1 but 2 prong attachments. Easy to install. Ready for the winter. I love it and I give 5 stars.

I knew I’d need something for my week in Lapland as I did not want to stay inside. Checking on Amazon these ice spikes seemed to be the best thing. They are retractable and worked like a dream. A crazy thing to purchase however I could not have managed without them & I would unreservedly recommend.
