Ezra's power in the force grows, but his tendencies towards accepting the dark side cause him and the Ghost crew some issues that are essential for character development. Sabine's back story finally gets flushed out and she begins to confront her own destiny. But to be honest, the best part of this season is THRAWN. I wish he would've been a bit more imposing in voice, but his presence and action in all the episodes does proud the creation from Timothy Zahn's books. As ruthless as Vader, but calculating and utterly patient, he shows very well in the series why he became grand admiral. He sees victory in increments as he is aware the campaign to crush the rebellion is a slow one. I also like how a lot of Ralph McQuarrie's designs are used throughout the show, like the precursors to droids and combat vehicles that will someday be seen in the original trilogy, paying homage to one of the visionaries that helped breathe life into this sci-fi giant.You get a LOT of explanation about how the rebellion grew, organized, and acquired personnel and materiel for their war effort. Several times in this season you see the characters risking all for gains unseen, and the culmination to a large battle scene did not disappoint. You also see a few more faces in the Empire and the development of the TIE Defender, the induction of some of the rebellion's most crucial members, and that's all I'll say for now.Oh did I mention there's plenty of Mandalorian jetpack combat? ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Show keeps getting better and better. *by C*** on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on September 25, 2019* This show started out sort of childish in the first season, but has progressed to very adult themes as it went on. I believe this show has better writing than the Clone Wars cartoon show. I know the Clone Wars is a beloved show and I like it as well, but Rebels has a very different vibe to it that I believe allows it to expand on the darkness of the galaxy more than TCW. We all know how the Clone Wars ended so the characters in it you know would always survive, and those that didn't. Rebels has new characters with the old, so even though you know the framework of the overall story, the new character arcs are more intriguing. We all know what happens to Anakin, but what about Ashoka? These questions made the show more interesting to me than TCW. Anyone who complains about the animation has no knowledge of the true purpose why Rebels was made that way. The galaxy is not in its prime and neither are the vehicles just like the original trilogy. It is made like that on purpose. Overall this series kept me hooked and I am highly interested if some of these characters make it to the big screen. (Not counting the brief cameo of the Ghost and Chopper in Rogue One). ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Season 3: Thrawn & Maul *by V***N on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on September 11, 2017* I thought this was a really solid season, it had some episodes that weren't as interesting as others, but overall, it's really enjoyable for a SW fan. I imagine binge watching these is more enjoyable than watching week-by-week, probably helps with the "filler" episodes. That said, the inclusion of Thrawn of this season was amazing. Dave Filoni & Co, really nailed the character. His mannerisms, his ideals, his actions all match the Thrawn we know and love. And the voice actor for Thrawn couldn't be any more perfect! Also we get a little bit more of Darth Maul, and, as always, Sam Witwer absolutely kills it with his voice acting with Maul. "KENOBIIIIIIIIII!!!!!" I'll keep the review short, but the season was great and I'm absolutely hyped for Season 4.
