Shower head has great pressure, but it creates a very loud screeching noise. Can it be corrected, or is the head defective?

Mine isn't making noise but I know exactly what your talking about as I've heard that type of noise before in the past with other showers. I believe it's because the water pressure may be too high. Did it make noise with your old shower head? If it was silent but your new one isn't, the I'd suggest contacting the seller here on Amazon and see about getting a replacement and see if it does the same.

..Does this shower head use all the "holes" in "rain mode"...NOT have the annoying holes or gaps in the flow...cannot find one that does...? ;-)

I'm very happy with this shower head. I tried several "rain" heads only to return them. I haven't found gaps or "annoying holes" in my view. I'm short with medical conditions, so I need good coverage. This is the first and last shower head I will ever use.

Mine leaks from between the gray plastic and "chrome". ? Thoughts?

I'm assuming you mean the ball joint were the shower head swivels and turns. If you just installed and it's leaking from there, return it for a replacement. It should not leak. If it's leaking between the connection to your shower, then be sure you used the included Teflon tape on the threads on the shower then reinstall the shower head.

Is there a filter on the shower head?

There actually is a metal mesh filter on this shower head where it connects to the pipe. If you ever get low water pressure it will most likely be because of calcium build up from hard water on that part which would be easy to soak in a cleaner that dissolves calcium.
