That way, instead of wrapping her retainers in a random paper towel while she eats, and leaving them on the counter, they have a nice safe place to go. And now I don't accidentally throw away the paper towel containing the retainers and have to go dumpster diving. Case looks good, washes well, seems very sanitary...and I don't have to go dumpster diving--that's really the only reason I need this. I brush and rinse the guard in the morning before putting it in the case while wet. There are no drainage holes in the case, which not only renders it useless, but is false advertising.
