After buying cold brew from coffee places for a few years, I decided I would try it at home. This is a great price for the quality. The basket that the grounds go in is very thick and good quality. The Ball jar is big and you can get a few days worth of coffee in one go. The directions are so simple and the coffee itself tastes great! The instruction booklet is pretty entertaining and has a ton of recipes which is going to be fun to try. Plus I love that you can use a new Ball jar top if it needs replacing. Overall I am so pleased with this product and will always have cold brew available in my fridge! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use and quick cleaning *by D***T on Reviewed in the United States on April 28, 2020* Having used a variety of methods to cold brew coffee, all of which made a real mess, I wanted to give this product a try. I am absolutely delighted with it! It allows me to cold brew without having wet coffee grounds all over the kitchen and is extremely ease to clean. Previously I tried using a cheese cloth bag that created an incredible mess and spilled coffee when trying to tie up the bag prior to placing it in the water. Then I had to deal with trying to empty the bag after completing the brew...another mess. The French Press method was another alternative but it produced batches that were too small and gritty with coffee grounds. Coffee filters and a couple of other methods left me almost ready to buy ready made brew but that is an expensive direction to go.This is so simple to use...just pour the coffee into the cone shaped fine mesh metal filter, put it in the included jar and slowly fill the jar with cold water. Clean up is even easier as all it requires is to dump the used grounds, give the filter a quick rinse and you are ready to brew up another batch. Total time is only a couple of minutes! The cold brew is totally without any coffee grounds at the bottom. The mesh in the filter is fine enough that you can actually use finely ground coffee if you wish.Great product! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars The included instructions are weak, but the coffee is strong *by H***K on Reviewed in the United States on February 15, 2020* For years I was buying individual coffee steeping pods that were amazing and consistent, but unnecessary. This method works great but requires a little extra effort or it comes out fairly weak.Recommended steps:1. In a separate container at least half the size of the provided bottle, add 2 cups of medium-ground coffee and filtered water.2. Store in fridge for 2-3 days and shake or stir the mixture daily.3. Put the filter inside the 2 Quart container and pour the mixture into the opening. You may need a spoon to get out all the remaining coffee grounds.4. Add water to the first container and stir around to get the residue coffee and pour into the container5. Add water to fill the bottle up the rest of the way.6. Wait at least 24 hoursTotal steeping time: 4 days. You can prep for this by starting another batch after the container is half empty.Optionally, drain your coffee into a separate, clean container, then pour back through the filter. I do this to get absolutely all the coffee flavor out of the grounds.--Pros:* Durable, simple, and a good filter* Easy to clean (especially if you have a good long-necked brush)* Uses a standard jar size that you can easily replace or duplicate if you want to make more coffeeCons:* Takes longer than 24 hours to steep coffee, unlike some alternatives.* The included book has a beautiful cover and some nice ideas for coffee, but it's not well written or easy to follow. They definitely need to hire a chef that's also an editor.Other notes:* Try to add a little cinnamon to the jar before anything else. Just tastes good.* Whatever you do, there will STILL be some small amount of sediment at the bottom of the container.
